I posted dyno and track numbers on these a long time ago so the data is around here somewhere. iirc, they made more hp than any comparable set up at the time. with stock mufflers it's as quiet as stock unless at wot, then it sounds nice and aggressive. there is ZERO drone at any speed or rpm. the headers will NOT automatically get you status 8'd but all dealers have a different opinion regarding mods. I'm still using my 100k mile warranty. vrp later sold these under their name for a while but I think they now make their own.

The shop that used to make these for us has closed a number of months ago. I have the original jig at the my shop to make the headers.
Back than he charged us a lot more than $2500.
My only guess right now that he has made another jig and he just trying to raise some cash by selling them at or below his cost.

I have no idea if these are the same as the ones that were branded by VRP, so don't hold me to any VRP specs; and that may explain cost as well. Again, my VRP exhaust work has been with totally different parts so I didn't add 3 and 2 together until later..I just know what i was able to find. I got called on $2500 and here it is...
I have no idea what individual components cost. I assume price is in the volume needed, since I doubt that parts are laying about. I would assume that $2500 is about as good as it is gonna get.
They come in black as well...

Looks really good. My eyes may be deceiving me but are the pipes that go into the muffler piping smaller than the muffler piping. Looks like excellent work. I can't wait to get my custom exhaust done tomorrow. Whats the diameter on that piping Mikey?

I didn't read your post, but yes they always do. It is only natural. I remember when an 80mm TB was $3500, a cooling kit $3000, a pulley and tune $4000, etc. etc. etc.
There is a fine line between paying your dues and gouging. All I can do as a consumer is hold my own....

Jangy, it seems you have more knowledge about these headers than you are letting on. What type of steel is being used on these? It also sounds and looks like these are VRP knock-off's...which is not cool, I am against anyone or any company that copies the hard work of others and then profits from it. That being said, I am also against price gouging. I would not pay $2500 for a set of knock-off non-stainless headers for a $90k car, but that's just me.
I guess I commend you in you money saving efforts in these trying economic times. The jury is still out on these headers until more info arises.

jim,
please don't start making unfounded accusations and implications in order to derail a fabricator that has quietly brought more to this community than recent "self proclaimed" tuners. these are mild steel headers with a jet-hot coating. no one has ever represented them as ss. and to make the totally uneducated assumption that these headers are knock-offs is below the belt even for you. these are original headers...headers that vrp LATER commissioned to become their own and put their brand on. we all know you have more money than the rest of us so you can pay what you want. in the mean time others need to work within a budget and these headers flat out work (as witnessed at famoso).

Next, I posted my intentions months ago. VRP had every opportunity to hear what the members were saying and offer a similar deal. They did not.
Last thing, I fully stumbled on this. It is a mere coincidence that I asked for $2500 and this deal is $2500. I heard of the price through a friend that had found them and was considering getting them.
