The weather forecast on accuweather shows no rain for either Saturday or Sunday. I am still going to see how it looks next weekend. So far though, it looks like rain next weekend.

Edit: right now 1:30am Sat: Accuweather states next Sunday (March 1st) is going to be awesome. 52F, no rain. Lets hope it states that way. Saturday (included in same price) is about 10 degrees warmer, no rain either. My gosh the weather is pretty unpredictable. But if it stays the same, I am going to be there Sunday March 1st. Remember, this is probably the one of the last day time test and tunes for the year according to their schedule.

Just joking guys........ Juicee is trying to pull a fast one on you..... Saturday was way too crowded to even get 1 pass in and of course Sunday got rained out. Maybe we'll attempt again next week .

Rain is in the forecast for this Saturday but I'm open all through March except for the 14th. Actually the 7th will depend on if I have my car back or not...having a few minor tweaks worked out.

I'm watching the Sacramento weather report more than the Famoso one for now. Next weekend in Famoso is supposed to be around 70 degrees. No sense in me going if I know I am going to run slower than last time. So i'm planning on going to the next cool/rainless weekend in Sacramento. Unfortunately I was having some diverter valve issues on the weekend I ran my 11.82 in Sacramento, so that was on my mild map. I just had some forged DVs installed this weekend. Last time temps were 67 when I ran the 11.82. So if the temps are lower than 55F or so, I will be disappoinated if I can't at least get a 11.7 with the stronger map.
So with these things, weather watching is key. Famoso had a projected temp of 52F just a few days ago. Now it is 70F degrees! So unpredictable. So if by chance it cools off rapidly next weekend, then I will probably bring my car to Famoso. It the last weekend test and tune on the schedule. If not, then Sacramento will be next.

Last Saturday was perfect at Famoso except for the crowd. Temps stayed between 55 to 59 F, there was a nice overcast to prevent the sun from heating up the track too much, and they prepped the track very extremely well because there were a couple of 4 second dragsters attending. However, some people waited 8 hours and only got 1 run

Sunday's test n tune was cancelled due to rain. However, so far, next weekend is looking good.... only 10% chance of rain and a high of 68 F (or at least for now)

100 octane

do they sell it at the track? and if they do, which brand(s)?

Although if you can only get 1 or two runs in ... it makes no sense for me to head down there.

Yes, they sell 100 octane Torco at the track.

Saturday is just way too busy, as people start camping at the gates on Friday night. However, I expect Sunday to be less crowded; maybe good for 3 to 4 runs considering people tend to leave earlier to get home earlier.

Torco sucks ... they add a huge amount of additives ...

I used it for like 4 months and would get a ton of residue out the pipes. I then switched to Sunoco or VPracing 100 and neither of them cause the residue.

Wasn't torco bought by someone?

On the way over to Famoso, there is a station that sells 100 octane VP. I think it's about an hour or so North of Famoso.

Well 70F is not that bad, considering my personal best was run when it was 67F. But the point is, I could do even better if it were colder. So with the stronger map, and 70F, I might still break my 11.8 et with my usual racing map. But you also have to remember with an engine less than half the displacement of your, my car running a high volumetric efficiency as far as hp output and really can use the cooler temps to help suppress knock, etc. With only 3 liters and running in solidly in the 11's with only 15-16psi of boost is pretty good compared to some of these Audi's and Evos running 22psi+. With a 6 liter engine, my car would put out close to 800WHP if calculated with the same volumetric efficiency as it presently runs.

Warren, so are you coming to Famoso this weekend? So far, weather.com predicts no rain for Saturday the 28th and 20% chance of rain for Sunday, March 1st.
