Stock E55 vs MHP C63 (mthis)

I bumped into this guy with the MHP tuned c63 and I have a stock E55 and just installed my Cm30 pump yesterday. We did 2 runs from 0 and with my shi**y tires I couldn't get the car to launch but anyway both times lost by about 1 car and half. We also did 2 rolling starts and both times I got in front and he wasn't able to pass me both rolling races, about 1 car. We definetly hit speeds above 100mph but not on the runs from the dig. Fun runs, I really expected for it to pull really hard on the roll with the tune but not what I expected. You can see every time the gear changes on the C63 the front end of the car was bouncing hard in a downward direction I don't know why that was. This is my second night racing this car and this first time he had bad tires and this time I had the bad tires.

Man these benzes are sure fast! i wonder how my stage 3 335i would match up. Im not much of a racer though haha Good job non the less.
Sounds like the car is running great Meto, that pump really is amazing how consistent it keeps the power and that SC cool.

Car feels great lol, I almost feel like its faster now. I can't believe a $150 PUMP was giving me such a problem with the S/C shutting down on me!

Is your car stock? Last time I raced the same car stock I took him off the line but his tires were shot. Either way the rolling didnt give me any problems.

Interesting...as we are seeing more of these c63 doing 119 120 mph at the end of 1/4 mile...modded ones I am talking about here. but none the less that C63 should be in E/CLS 63 power level and weighs less then you, so for you to pull on it is really good congrats

also take not of this TIRES are on if not best mods you can do to the beast, because even in stock format you will lose traction, the more power you add the more you lose, only way to put it to use is to get some good rubber on

Peace out

So, just so I understand correctly, the 63 beat you in the dig races and you beat the 63 in the rolling starts?

mthis hasnt had a chance to chime in here I guess but on another forum he posted he was NOT running his MHP tune. He had sent it back for some reason. I beleive he was running on stock ecu during this.
Either way sounded like some fun runs

mthis called Andy this morning, Andy relayed the info to me. You raced him with his stock ECU, not the one we tuned. You are welcome to PM so I can give you his cell # to confirm--he said that's ok for me to do.

Thank You
Tony

Too bad. YNOT600 popped up in the other thread too.

Sounded too good to be true if you were beating him from a roll.

Yes, but on the races from a dig he was already out in front of me by the time my car actually started moving.

So your stock E55 lost to a stock C63 from a dig?

My tires are pretty much bold. I raced the same kid a few months back when my tires were new and his was messed up and I easily beat him from a dig, I actually have a thread on that somewhere also.

Sorry if I came off the wrong way, I just wanted to relay info but not do so in a manner that violates the TOU since Andy's on suspension and mthis is banned for 2 weeks.

mthis sent his ECU back to upgrade from 9/10 to 10/10 shifting before MIR.

Are you coming to MIR?

Thank You
Tony

Your race sounds like what I would expect stock vs stock. Mthis is pretty good at launching the C63 as well judging from his 1/4 mi times, one of the fastest I've seen for a stock C63, and with your bad tires I'd say you kept up pretty good. From a roll, I've always believed from my butt dyno that an E55 was faster than the C63. It must be the extra torque from the E55 that allows it to lunge forward, giving you that instant 1 car lead that you continued to hold onto. At least that's what it feels like to me when I drive them back to back.

But yeah, kinda funny how you guys ran into each other like that, and how Mthis snuck up on you like a ninja haha!

Thats funny you say that because every single race we did from a roll my car alwayz seems to jump out ahead and he is never able to catch up from there. He'll be getting his tune soon and I plan on getting the E63 wheels soon and a lil wider back tire, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

watching Gustav's videos...

it makes sense..

a healthy E55 would pull away from a DCT M3 and C63.

From a dig.. its a drivers race and who ever gets the jump and traction.

man....that tuner was all over it, too funny :-)

in regards to the cm30 IC pump. I too recently installed one to replace the factory bosch pump that was failing (shutting off SC) and the car pulls much stronger all around...what a great purchase that was.

BTW...doesn't the C63 get to 60 in 3.9?

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...st+page-3.html

and the stock E55 in 4.2?

No way does the C do 3.9, my guess would be more around 4.4 or 4.5 stock.
