*** VRP Intercooler Package for V12 BiTurbo ***
#126
A good friend of mine came to me about modding his CL65 and we decided to go with VRP. The kit is the VRP850 kit, I'm not sure if that is the same is what you are discussing here or something similar. The car is being shipped out of NJ to Motorwerksgroup in detroit the 10th and hopefully will be back the 17th if all goes accordingly Ill keep you all posted. I'm going to do some baseline pulls before we send it to see what it does when it comes back. I was told by Motorwerks that this kit makes 850whp. We'll see. Thats nearly 1000 crank hp no? Pretty insane. Can't wait to drive it.

Pretty harsh assumption. Makes you appear biased and ignorant. On what basis are you choosing to accuse someone of deception versus a possible misunderstanding? Motorwerks is not the provider of the kit. They simply do installations. Everyone here knows what the kit makes. The "825" Designation is referring to crank horsepower.

The kit does not make 850 RWHP. It doesn't even make 850 crank Horsepower. Did you speak with Victor or anyone at VRP about the power output of the package prior to purchasing it?

u r advertising VRP more than VRP it selfe. maybe U R VRP, and trying to misslead everyone by telling all good stories from the clients position?

Not at all. Marko works close with victor/ VRP, the first kit was designed for his car. They just have a good relationship IMO and in no way he is VRP itself. We owe a lot to his research and for putting his car on the line so we could reap the benefits.

No I didn't speak with Victor they don't ever seem to be near the phone over at VRP. Either way, whatever it makes, I'm sure, judging from your 1/4 times that it'll be alot of fun. Is there any difference between this 850 kit vs your 825? I have to tell you that motorwerks told me straight up, because I asked it out right if the name of the package "VRP850" was indicative of the type of power I could expect and he said yes 850whp and like 900 something crank numbers with over 1k torque for this package. Couldn't make this up, its what he told me.

Plain and simple, if Motorwerks told him 850whp, it is a lie. I made that claim on the basis that most shops/tuners will exaggerate their power claims slightly to get a quick sale. Perhaps it came off negative or what have you, but I didn't mean to take away credit from neither Motorwerks or VRP in regards to the kits offered.
And as to a possible misunderstanding-- with all due respect-- if Motorwerks doesn't know what numbers the kit would be putting down (or any shop advertising it for that matter), I wouldn't want them working on my car. How would you feel if a shop said: "This kit gets you 800whp", you pay the money and next thing you know your pushing out 700whp, with 800 at the crank? Would them saying, "It was a misunderstanding," make you feel any better?
In any event, I love your car and the work you've put into it and can definitely appreciate the time and effort involved in getting the results you do!

No, it's just "SL600"-- you can't make it out because of the crappy BlackBerry camera lol
Biased? Ignorant? Are you kidding me? I love VRP and the progress they are making with these cars, I hope one day I get to install a VRP kit on my car.

This forum is a great place to straighten out this misunderstandings. I hope everyone is in the clear now on the kit and it's power output on a 65 engine.

Will there ever be tuning to use the 6.0L V12TT engine to hit 800-900rwhp? So much promise, I can picture carnage happening if someone can get twin GT35s or Twin 6765(67mm) Billets in place of the stock twins...that will be insanity.

I have ordered a bunch of other stuff from VRP before, the quality sucked big time, will put a thread one day when have time.

what about the pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) input to intake, when you remove air box you lose that connection to the driver side turbo. Do you fabricate an oil catch can and connect to turbo plumbing or what.

What CAI are you using? if you have the Scorpion CAI frm 825 kits these items are already addressed
#148
i dont have a new intake yet, just thinking what to use and how to set it up. Was thinking to do somthing like the scorpion kit, just wanted to know if I had to keep all stock air sensors, pcv in the loop. I would like to place the filters in cooler air if possible ie. in front of radiator behind grille. how do you have your intake, I know you were experimenting with foam filters and gutted air box, still that way or something new?

I have seen intelligent posts from you in the past. I was just surprised to see you jump to an accusation of dishonesty so quickly. Either way, water under the bridge.

Excited to see what's next for your 65!

That was the first thing that crossed my mind as well Marcus, too bad not all transmissions hold power like the V160 in the MKIV Supra, you know exactly what I'm talking about as you've had one. Hmm perhaps built auto should put into the picture if the TCU programming can be revised.
