Angry 2004 E55 shuts down at 80 mph in fast lane!

I just trade my $25,000 cash for a beautiful 2004 white E55 with pano roof and all options, 70,000 miles. On the drive home it shuts down at 80 on the freeway! Towed to mbz of anaheim. 2 fuel sending units shorted out, NICE!!!
$1600.00! The original owner says your stuck with it, or return the car and she will pay the repair bill. What should I do? I love the car! But I should return it and make her suck it up. The TPM light is on also, They say it needs 4 new sensors.... $1500.00. Can I get the tire pressure monitors somewhere else, and have a tire store put them in?

Any advice would be super helpful!! Thank you.

One thing...when she says return the car will you get your full $25K back? If so, do it...then find a later model E55 that is CPO'd.

If you keep it then get the repair work done at a MB trained ASE independent shop and shop around for the parts. That should save you some money, but I would do the above...

I don't understand. She says your stuck with it on the one hand, but you can return it on the other ? That makes no sense. But, if she's willing to take the car back and return your $25k, go for it. Otherwise 25k +3k or 28K isn't that bad for the car, assuming no other problems

If you get 25k cash back give it back to her.
Look for another one.

I know she is a little whacked i guess! If it were switched I would pay for half the repair, that is what I offered her, she refused to give me $675.00, but will give me $26350.00??? She will have to get a title( all filled out already) and continue to try and sell it ect ect, she it nuts huh? I drove the car 33 miles and it breaks down on the freeway! BTW 2nd owner, perfect autocheck, and carfax, the recall had been done 8 months ago, no dings, or paintwork, its very clean!! She drove the car all day before I bought it!
Please make any reply you can, I need all input!

Thank you so much!

Jay

While she is at the dealer, have them pull the service records on the car.

If it has a lonnnnnnng list of repairs. Bring er back bro.

Some of these cars are just cursed. Most aren't though.

The repair is done. I paid $1350.00. And now the car runs perfect.
Not a lot of repairs, except she told me one about wiring under the rear seat to fuel tank or something.
Sounds like i'm returning it.
OH YEAH! it has the Supercharger CHIRP as well.

Fuel tank service was a recall and covered under warranty.

Supercharger chirp is actually normal...you can replace clutch packs and it quiets it out for a while.

If you are feeling negative about the car, take it back.

Man that sucks, having your new car break right away is one of the worst feelings. I think it kinda makes sense what she says. Of course she doesn't want to pay the repair bill, but if you return it and she gives you 25k back, well, she just got it repaired for free. And she could still sell it again too. So its a win win for her. Sounds kinda sleazy to me. But if it has no other issues, it might be a good deal. All options including pano, in white, is a bit rare, and pretty damn sexy if I do say so myself, haha. Bet it looks beautiful.

I'm no technician, but maybe 80mph in the fastlane was a bit to slow

Is it really her fault that it broke down on you after you drove it 33 miles? You bought a car with 70k miles... no warranty etc... for a very good price... that is the risk you take. I say keep to the deal you made with her, keep the car and enjoy it... now, maybe you can get a dealership to sell you a warranty and not worry about future repairs...
