It will be ready to ship to you next week. I dont have it back from clear yet, and we will be closed from Wednesday-Sunday for SocalEuro. So you will have it sometime next week for sure the way it looks.

Well once I get the prototype installed and verify that the fitment is right from side to side, I will take TONS of pics and either give Neal the thumbs up or thumbs down. I beleive he said about a month or so to get the rest of them made.correct me if I am wrong, Neal.

I believe Neal mentioned that once the okay is given to start production, we should expect a final product in about 5 to 6 weeks. If the first one has any fitment problems, I'd expect 10 to 12 days for each subsequent "try". But we've waited so long already, what's another couple of months

Thats too bad dude...
These are gonnna look amazing! But I understand...you wanna be in an AMG instead of the regular 500. And to go into a 211 amg right now just doesnt really make sense.
I cant wait to see what you end up with.
I still think SL all the way dude!
You should get a new SL63(the 65's are obviously crazy expensive) I could see you in a new body style SL63. That would be sweeeet!
CLS is nice too, but IMO I see you in an SL more

I'm pretty interested Benz-O-Rama...

Quick question, first -- does anyone have experience with the EuroTeck E55 diffuser at high speeds (ie over 125mph--perhaps you might trap close in a modified E in a 1/4 mile run).

Like the concept but also worried about this thing staying put at speed (2 bolts + tape just doesn't sound that secure to me).

Thanks in advance...

The absolute last thing that can happen is this falling off. This is on very secure, the car can never reach its limits to have it come off, the way it is attached makes it phisically impossible. Come on guys... you think this is our first day on the job????

Thanks. not doubting your abilities or experience and you guys clearly have a stellar rep in this community. Just asking the question given the range of testing procedures used (or not used) in aftermarket parts.

With respect to the two bolts that secure this in addition to the 3M tape--do they run through the bumper (and if so do you drill the underside of the bumper) or is there a pick-up point we'd be screwing into someplace else.

Would love to hear from some E55 diffuser owners that have taken their car to speed with the EuroTeck piece...anyone?

Well at this point he is gone for the rest of the week. I dont suspect you will get an answer from him. Maybe Godfather or some other e55 peepz with this item can chime in.
I can saw however from a different platform, on my old P-car I had an aftermarket diffuser installed which was only attached by 3 bolts and had no isssues at speed. Stayed in place nice. Hopefully this will be the same and not move around.

The E55 diffuser was derived (at least in design) from the SLK55 diffuser, which EuroTeck designed and created a while back. I believe EuroTeck also did wind-tunnel testing for that diffuser but not for the E55.

As Neal mentioned, this is not the first diffuser they create, and I'm sure they've taken some of these concern into account. It'd be nice to get some of the highly modded E55 owners who have the EuroTeck diffusers to chime in.

The 2 bolts need to go threw holes drilled in the bumper behind the black plastic part... With 2 nuts on the back. (Included). The part only needs to be on by double sided tape, the bolts/nuts are only there as a backup if the exhaust tips ever got hot so the tape wont lift...

UPDATE: I will be shipping the diffuser out in about 2 days.....
