OLD thread but are the OEM ones (B6 602 1043) plug and play with a 2009 w211? I can't seem to get confirmation on if there are connectors for front and rear...etc.

Thanks,
-Nigel

There used to be 2 and 4 sets. Both are discontinued for about 9 years now. I know there are 2 sets left in the world but both dealerships won’t return emails. One is in Singapore the other one in turkey. Good luck. Plug and play with holes to be drilled through the door sill seam. I have a two set installed on my E320.

I have a short thread about mine: AMG sills...now what. Good luck finding them OEM actual PN noted in post). Then, if you only have the front two lighted, and get an all four illuminated set, get ready to get into the SAM. I ended up having a good bud that is (was) a dealer tech install them. He did an awesome job (always does) and they were one of the mods I added that I liked the most. As far as finding them, may the force be with you.

Found a NOS on ebay. All 4 illuminated sills. Problem is they are just the sills, no little control/power boxes. I don't have a problem messing with the sam or coding since I have STAR. I've already added a bunch of things to our w211: bixenons, power trunk, backup camera...etc.

So close to buying those sills but without the rest of it, I'm not taking a chance.

I'm pretty sure you can still get the inverter boxes, or whatever they're called. Three of mine were bad and my tech got them from his parts dept. One of the new ones was bad, so he had to get yet another one. They may be used for other instruments and years as well, but he didn't seem to have a problem getting them. I've sold the car so don't know what the part number is. As rare as those things are, if you want them, I'd get them and research the other components. I loved mine. Just my $0.02.

Nothing is available any longer from MB for the sills. Wish the Singapore or Turkey dealer would reply. There are still two 4 sets available but they don’t respond to any phone call or email.

Looks like it ended or the dude finally sold it... I emailed them numerous times with zero response back so actually that could have been a blessing...lol It amazes me how some business/people have such horrible communication skills.

Hm.. Those didn't look exactly like mine. I didn't have the large cut out underlying the AMG logo. The logo letters were the only cut outs on mine. Guess there were more than one type. I posted some pics of the sills I had in one of my threads.

I don't think these are the OEM ones. That’s probably why they didn’t have the green boxes that allow you to integrate them into the car.

And as someone stated above the OEM ones didn’t have a rectangular cutout. Only the letters were cut out of the metal.

I think you are right. Those connectors look odd. It's annoying AF when people list things as OEM and then you start looking deeper and it doesn't appear so. Makes sense about the control boxes...

I found a picture of the front door sills from a 09 e63 and they are different.

See what these look like:

These were mine, along with the box and p/n.
