$175 estimate for resonator delete!

Is this a little overpriced or is it just me? I wanted to remove them off the
E63 and thats the quote I got.

You've previously paid the "Porsche tax", welcome to the "Mercedes tax".

Any AMG Thats Around..
i dont think the price is that bad..... Given the shops posted labor rate.... Where here in NY a shop in the area of what i do go from $75-$135 an hour..

so if you figure on a $85an hour... 2 hours (probably) = $170

if you go into a meinike or a low end muffler shop... you might get a 55hr.. But i can say when you pull up there, those guys have probably never driven in, or worked on a E63.... lol..

honestly.. whether they driven or worked on a AMG or M does not make a difference..

its just metal and welds. They do it everyday and all day long.

Just shop around.

If you find a shop that is not that pricey, just make sure you inspect their work.

Magnaflow has a nice x pipe. Buy it and shop around for the best labor rate.

Most regular muffler shops will charge $35 an hour. If you go to the exotic shops or big name stores.. you are only paying for the brand.

Yea, to just cut out the resonator and replace with pipes should not cost that much money.

Also don't let them convince you that you need SS pipes either. That's just more weight and more $$.
