Out of warranty.. what aftermarket companies are good for AMG/600s?

Hey guys. I am in the market for some sort of 55 or 600.. Dunno exactly what yet (either E,CL, or SL) Yes I know, quite the variety.

But with this forum owning all the traffic I figured I could get a real answer.

Some companies (warranty direct) for one, doesn't have warranties for 55s/600s.

For a car out of warranty like an 03-04 that was extended or starmarked.. 30-50k miles.. where can I look for a warranty?

A good company, that reimburses quickly, can take to dealer, fair prices.. etc.

Thank you,

Michael

I figure some if not many of you may have done this and been down this route.

Thanks again.

Search is your friend...

Some say Chrysler offers a good warranty...

Not my bag, as I'm CPO'd and MB extended from then on.

I purchased an extended warranty through fidelity but have not had to use it yet. They seem like a reputable company and pay with a CC from what I was told so no out-of-pocket expense except for the deductible. Definitely use the search- I started a thread on this several weeks back and there was lots of good info shared in there.

I was researching this for a little while but kinda gave up because of the lack of results. The Chrysler seemed like a valid option, but I couldn't get a guarantee that they would warranty the supercharger.

At the time, the Fidelity warranty they were selling at the MBZ dealership seemed to be the only warranty that would cover the supercharger and other unique MB components.. But the price was more than I could afford.

That's who I went with. My car is an 03 E55 with about 60k miles. Feel free to PM me for more info if you are really interested. Chrysler has several positive comments too. There are a ton of warranty threads on this forum, you should be able to find all the info you need. Good luck.

OK did a little research and a little searching, and came across Michael Case from Chrysler he has helped a lot of people on benzworld and he's been with them for a long time, he takes care of all the mercedes stuff.

Any benz is the same price as long as it has 60k miles or less. MERCEDES ONLY COME WITH MAXIMUM CARE OPTION, can't get anything else.

Here are the prices and the email and word doc he sent me. I spoke with him today, this guy knows his Sh%t

"Note: The plan terms below start from the date of purchase of the contract (the years are added on to the current year; the miles are added on to the current mileage) and come in $100 and $200 deductible options only.

MAXIMUM CARE SPC (2) – FOR VEHICLES WITH 60,000 MILES OR LESS

PLAN CODE TERM COST

$100 DECUCTIBLE

UM2100M 2 Years / Unlimited Miles $1,755
UM3100M 3 Years / Unlimited Miles $2,325
UM4100M 4 Years / Unlimited Miles $2,995
UM5100M 5 Years / 70,000 Miles $2,995

$200 DEDUCTIBLE

UM2200M 2 Years / Unlimited Miles $1,535
UM3200M 3 Years / Unlimited Miles $1,980
UM4200M 4 Years / Unlimited Miles $2,360
UM5200M 5 Years / 70,000 Miles $2,360

Hi Mike,

Nice speaking with you today! Please see the attached Word document listing the available plan terms and pricing for your Mercedes Benz. I am also including the Used Vehicle Inspection form that must be completed by any MB dealer prior to purchasing a Chrysler Service Contract."

Things to note: he said that any mercedes dealership will honor this warranty. For inspection before your given the warranty, MB has to do a 25 point inspection depending on the dealer they will charge you 1/2 hr to 1 hr labor to do this. Once they sign off on this, you are good to go. When there is an issue with your car, bring car to MB dealer, give dealer the number to call Chrysler, you will also have the service contract (keep in glove box) and you will have a specific number, with this the MB service manager can get authorizations and the repairs are paid IMMEDIATELY. He said they get so many people calling for mercedes warranties every day.

Hope this helps. The pricing he gave me seems very fair, he knows his stuff, and any of you can call him and tell him that I posted this and I am Mike that called about the SL55 amg and called about warranty info.

It it also TRANSFERABLE but only ONCE to a private party sale. $50 to transfer it. This will pay for itself I think since who doesn't want a warranty in these cars?

Thanks! This is awesome info. I'm looking for pretty much the same cars you are and wondered about the warranties.

One question though...what if the car has slightly more then 60K miles?

I didn't ask, but I imagine they CAN'T cover it esp since on MB they only do max care plans. I would stick with under 60k.

In order of prices for 55 amgs I found on manheim and real world market:

S55
E55
CL55
SL55

S55 the cheapest with SL55s being the most. SL55s 03s still bring 28-31k on average

What is covered in the "MAX CARE COVERAGE" package? Is there an actual contract viewable online?

Oh, ok. So basically the usual stuff. My big concern with the S-class is the ABC suspension. I've heard bad things....I'm assuming something like this will be covered

ABC is on SL, CL, and S class.. so most makes.. I would assume it is. However, a quick call to his cell phone will get you the exact answer

1 thing is sometimes you talk to an F-ing moron when you call an 800 number. That is his exact number straight to him. He has been working for CSC for a long time, and deals with a lot of mercedes customers, people who referred me via a thread on benzworld. This guy like I said knows what he is selling, and knows it well. Not like your talking to some woman with an accent in a 3rd world country that got the job thru outsourcing, know what i mean?

He will call back. I left him a message out of no where on friday and saturday afternoon he called me back.

Like I said the guys a chill guy who knows what he's selling. That's why I posted his direct info.. you may call the company and deal with some retard who doesn't know specifics, and deal with bad customer service. Your always better off with a direct number.

Last time I heard, the Chrysler warranty required your car to be under original factory warranty in order to be eligible - once you were without a warranty - it's near impossible to get one. On and 03/ 04, I would think this would be the case.

At least that's what was the case when I was looking at Ext warranty last year.

Nope. All you have to do is get a 25 point inspection at a MB dealer.. once they sign off it passed or w/e then your warranty will take effect.
