I do not believe that either Renntech or Kleemann offer tranny control module upgrades for the '03 cars as the electronics are different. However, I do believe it is possible for a skilled tech to go in and tweak the shift parameters. This was done on my '02 SLK32 which should use the same electronics as the '03 car. Shift speed was changed as I has a slow 1-2 shift and would often hit the rev limiter on upshifts.
VRUS will probably be able to help you as VRP is leading the way on tranny upgrades for the AMG.

try disconnecting the negative terminal of your battery overnight to allow your adaptave trans to reset. Then see if it makes a difference.
My car's shft speeds are affected by how it has been driven. Having said that, it will never shift quickly from 1st to 2nd. MB software wants to protect the tranny.

I have the Southern Hotrod Shift Improver Kit solenoids, should have them installed early part of April. I have to plan out a weekend when I have uninterrupted time to install them. I'll be sure to let folks know if it helps out. These are intended for the NAG1/Chrysler version of our tranny, so my results might vary.
Also, you can take a chance on thicker fluid. Thicker fluid will make the 1-2 shift firmer, but you have to give the tranny computer time to adapt. It will perceive that the shift completions are taking longer, so the combination of thicker fluid plus the tranny computer compensation results in firmer shifts. Not recommended if you are worried about warranty. MB has progressively gone to thinner fluids, you can potentially be in the spirit of recommended fluid if you find fluid compatible with what was used in 2003 versus what the dealership will install today.

What I have is two new solenoids, which is intended to be a nice improvement but it isn't for going with big power. I'm only going to be keeping my CL for another ~year, so I didn't feel the need to go for the full build.
Here's the post over at CherokeeSRT8 -

For my next CL ... I think I'll modify the tranny first, instead of after the power mods :-).

Hrmmm When Ken and I were talking he told me that they had Speedshift for the W211 E55's I didn't ask him to clarify the years, so you might be correct

My understanding is that it can be done on the '03 cars but requires the car to be present as you have to change the shift parameters in the car "live" as opposed to a reflash or add-on box.
