T Minus 18 hours...SL65 baby!!!!
I wanted a white exterior/black interior or black exterior/red but I couldn't pass this baby up...2006 SL65 with 5000 miles with clean VIN for a price I couldn't believe.
My Beast will have a girlfriend to hang with...My mod list is starting so I'll start another thread on that build.
I'm starting on the 20" wheel/tire upgrade (both are lighter than stock)...I've narrowed it down to the following:
HRE C93
OR
CCW SP16a
I'll post pics tomorrow when it's in the garage with the Beast!!!! I don't think I'll sleep tonight.

Congrats on the buy- you will love the 65 engine.
As for the wheels, HRE is the way to go but the C93's will be swallowed up by the car due its step lip design IMHO. I would do an 893 or 890 version- they weigh about 3-4 lbs more per wheel but you wont notice it much with the stupid gobs of tq that the car has.
Or you can opt for the 793 or 790 wheel which weighs the same as the 890's but lets you get a bigger lip (1/2 inch to 1 inch more).

I've been trying to reach Victor and I've already left a message but it's like getting in touch with the Pope. Hopefully he'll see this thread...

Congrats, you must be unable to sit still, haha. I would go with the HREs, look much better imho, and the lip is nice. Sure the weight won't hamper the acceleration, but having light wheels in the twisties is nice.

PS...I plan on taking the headlights apart and blacking out the inside and then tinting the exterior portion with 30% tinted protective film...like my E55.

I'm jealous, if I would've held-off buying my SL600 last year until now I'd be able to easily afford the SL65 But then I would've deprived myself of any V12 TT fun.....
Anyhow I'm happy for you! sounds/looks like a great purchase, please tell us what kinda $$ deal you got on her
you should def do some races vs your modded E55 before you mod 65 & post video ASAP...

V12...I noticed you blacked out your grill. You have a closeup of it. I just ordered the 3 fin grill and the SL63 spoiler from Gerry at formymercedes.com and I may black out the grill, too.
