Code 3 uses a Spearco Core. It is a 5 inch, they said it is very efficient so they scrubbed designing the 7". It would be nice to get a 7" though -- im not sure who makes it..?

I have a 180 .. no driveability problems, but serious power. Initially, I thought there was a lag, but another member on the board expalined it quite well to me .. I dont think I have a lag.

Guys, I plan to drive from NC to Elpaso, Tx this summer in the Beast. I will be out there on business for a while. If I get this pulley set and just use my stock cooling system do you think I will have cooling issues? Or should i just leave the car stock?

With the 172mm you will not need cooling upgrades,

with the 180mm it is absolutely necessary

Thanks, I have actually already had the car tuned before by Wayne from LET. So i'm sure if I get this set i will get another tune done by LET as well.

I drive my car in South FL and we have 90 degree days all the time and i have not yet shut down from getting to hot. I have the Code 3, -10mod , and CM30 as my only cooling mods and will be doing the Tstat. Once you have these cooling mods with a 180mm and LET tune you will be good to go.

thanks for the response. I read your post about your lag issue and that's part of the reason I asked the question. I still want the car to be responsive and i don't want the car to run out of breath at the topend. I really would like to have a 7 inch core even if I have to make a special request. you cannot have enough cold air. the more cool air the better.

this will also make peak performance last longer.

My ASP 175mm pulley that I sold weighed 13lbs. That is quite a bit more rotational mass right there.

Yes the ASP is alot heavier since it's an OEM pulley with a ring welded on to it. Even just the stock pulley is heavier then the LET one. I wonder what gains there is to be had with less mass. I would assume more response and faster boosting along with more HP at the engine due to rotational mass. Maybe I will do a before and after dyno let180 vs asp180 with the same LET tune and then just a base tune.

I got 10 more 172mm pulleys arriving today. I have 2 or 3 orders to catch up on, then the rest are ready to ship.

Don't wait, we will be going back to retail very soon.

Jerry,

Do you know if you'd do a group buy on the 180mm Pulley? I'd be interested in the 180 vs the 172.

Thanks,
Josh
