Yup I did it ..... I upgraded to an 07 E63 and am very pleased with the car.

Thanks to all that helped with input. The old 55 was stock and this car will also remain stock

What upgrades I end up with are

Better Brakes
Better handling
Flappy paddles without button push
TV
DVD player
DVD MP3
Navigation
AMG Logo on command (heh none of the dealers here had seen that before)
Better colour (my opinion) being Black on Black.
Probably more but that will do for now.

Aside from that, congrats on the new ride. Honestly, how would you compare the power between the two?

Less out of the blocks and no big punch in the back but feels much faster over 4500rpms.

Funny just got back from a blast down the freeway. .... overtaking ...... depress peddle kicks down .... depress more kicks downs again ... #$%# it .... hit the floor kicks down a third time ....muhahhahah it was bloody funny and will be a good new party trick with friends in the car. waa waaaaa waaaaaaaaaa

Jealous I'm not in USA .... would luv to mod the 55 but no one trustworthy in little old NZ to do this. So stock to stock is the comparison I had to go with.

congrats! The E63 is a awesome ride. So refined and just powerful as heck for what it is. Every time I drive mine I can't believe how fast it is compared to my C6 vette and Jeep SRT8. Don't mind the jealous 55 guys. Oh the "you can't mod it like a 55 thing" is like on the corvette forum where guys say buy a regular C6 and mod it so it will blow away a ZR1(just not that big of a power gap with the 55/63) lol. FYI nav has been around and even stock to stock a 55k kills a 63 .

I love the car but just haven't found the owners too genuine. More like the M5 crowd.....

I'm shocked that there has not been a legit E55 vs E63 race set up. I mean like 6 pulls back to back. I'm in St. Louis and would love to race a stock E55 with the video on from 0-155. I really have no idea who would win. I know it would be close but it should be documented to put this E55/E63 thing to bed.

Early on, the key with the 63s was to break them in first. I think they get faster after a few k on them. Either that or MB detuned the first batch (07) fearing tranny failures. I raced a brand new one from the dealership when I bout my 55k and was killing him. Since then, I've had a few more runs with friends that have them and it is much closer with the advantage to the 63 after the 1/4

Little ol NZ only got the NAV dvd last year even though most E55's and all E63s came with NAV units .... we had no DVD with NZ maps to use. My 55 had NAV but was a CD model. They are not going to release NZ maps on CD.

I raced cars for a numbers of years and won a few championships. I really don't need it to be the fastest ........ but for what it's worth ...... it kicks the 55's *** man no question ..... hahaha
