For Those with a 2009 E63
Does your car blip the throttle when it downshifts? I ask because the 2009 CLS63 does it (which is basically the same car as the E63), as well as all the other 2009 AMG vehicles.
I'm hoping it does because there may be a way for the 07 & 08 software to be updated to the 09 version that blips the throttle.

Since I know someone with the Star computer with all the updates, and if the 09 E63 has it, then he may be able to do it.

You should hear the SL63, or even better, feel it, different gear box, its so hot. Could this be archived through an aftermarket ECU? Its basicly Rev Matching, right?

I wish Mb would give E63 transmission software update with rev matching downshift.
Don't we have same transmission as C63? I asked SA if it is possible and he said that transmission software is vin specific. So it cannot be done.
I wonder we should all ask MB or AMG for updates with rev matching downshift. What you guys think?

Actually AMG replied back to them on the private lounge stating that they will offer the software upgrade through the dealerships, but then later stated that AMG has re-considered and decided that it would cost too much money to do so.

yeah there is no doubt the C 63 has the best sounding exhaust of the merc drove one a while back..
you can duplicate it pretty close by, either getting the C63 AMG mufflers
or similiar mufflers that are smaller, and dont have the dual chamber bend in the middle of the muffler like the E and CLS do..
and getting rid of the resonator and getting high flow cats and some headers perhaps.
but yeah you are right,, the C 63 sounds poetic..

I have no doubt that AMG's answer to E owners will be to buy a 2010 E63 in order tp get the throttle blip.
The insite I have been given is that AMG tends to never look backward, always forward. And retro fitting is looking backward.
The best way would be to have an aftermarket tuner try to make a licensing deal on the technology from AMG. I can guarantee it will be expensive.
