How to remove OE Heat Exchanger
I installed the cm30 pump yesterday. It was very easy to do. The only problem was that it is smaller then oe, I had to make a packing so it would fit in the stock clamp.
Now my next project is to upgrade he. How do you remove the stock one?

You can actually remove the stock HE by going under the car. You can remove it without removing the bumper.
I was able to squeeze the upgrade/larger Code-3 HE up to the mounting points as well. Unfortunately, you cannot bolt it on without removing the bumper since you don't have enough access.
Are you trying to upgrade your HE?

im currently trying to upgrade my cooling as well.
i was able to measure the stock HE from under the car and it doesnt look too hard to remove. it was about 28x5x2.25 inches. it looks like i can just about fit a second OEM HE in front of the original one.
what size HE are u going with?
im trying to find one around 30x6x3 inches. looks like that can fit there quite easily. the bumper rebar and oil cooler prevents it from being much taller than 6" but making it thicker than 3" shouldnt be a problem either. im jsut not sure if its good to go thicker than 3".

Its pretty straight forward shardul.i would take the front bumper off to make ut easier.if you are going wuth the eurocharged one its a tight fit and you will have a small buldge under the bumper from the oil cooler.
Just be carfull on steep driveways not to scrape because the oil cooler is really close to the ground.

There are two small bolts holding the oil cooler to the stock HE. Once you've removed those you can slide the oil cooler out of its bracket.
After that unclip the metal bracket on each end of the HE. I pulled the drivers side out first, disconnected the hoses, the slid the passenger side of the HE out.
