Just as the title says guys, and what are our bottom ends good for in terms of HP/TQ?

What about the pistons and crank? I find it hard to believe that as pricey as these cars were when they first came out, pistons and cranks are not forged. Are you sure? Seems like MB would not have skimped on them.

crank no point.
pistons, ive cracked a piston once in my life.
but i have broke bent many many many rods

forged pistons are loud and they are linked to oil consumption
amg made the correct choices

Exactly... The forged pistons are great and very strong but they will run looser piston to wall clearances. Hence the chances of heavier oil consumption is greater. Factory pistons are cast because they don't expand like the forged nearly as much and you can run very tight piston to wall clearance. Much better suitable for mass production.

lets see just in e 55's say 2005 model year what is the number around 2500 cars multiplied by 8 ..... you do the math. I would call that more than a few pistons.... that is just for the e class not to mention all the other models that came with the 55k motor...

I have not forgotten the AMG creed. Let me clarify... I mean like a production vehicle. Regardless of actual numbers, if they make 1000 or 10,000 its still what I called mass produced.
