Hey guys just got my w211 Im new to all this so hope i don't sound like a fool lol. As far as the i.c pump should i be worried about it and change it asap or is this something i should hold off on until i decide to upgrade the heat exchanger as well? Or would i notice a diffrence with just a pump for now?

you can change the pump before upgrading the h/e. i changed mine last weekend. the temps are more in control.

We'll be offering one soon. A turn of events led us to have to fab one up for an E55. Core should be in tomorrow and then its up to my welder to work his magic.

We're looking at a price point of around 500.00.

For the local customers we'll be offering a full cooling package: HE, Modded Tstat, CM30, and -10 degree fan mod. All topped off with OEM MB coolant and some Purple Ice (we've seen it run cooler then water wetter many times). Pricing to be announced on install and package pricing.

Our HE will be 26X7X3.5.

You can get johnson pumps for 145.00 shipped from Advanced Performance Engineering. They are always in stock and ship out immediately.

anybody know the biggest size HE that can fit in the CL? I've heard that there is less space in the CL vs. the E..... also, is it better (or easier for install purposes) to have the inlet and outlet on the same side or different sides? thnx

well for the e55 it would be better for the inlet and outlet to be on the same side since the stock ones are on the same side.

Yeah, just don't know if it is stock garrett heat exchanger (which is 26X6X1.5) from the cobra or gt500 (which you can get dirt cheap on ebay) or something else..... like I said, haven't seen too many on CL55s but Vadim told me that there is less space for HE in the CL up front....

They may, but the ones I've received from them come with all paper work and in the same box as anywhere else. So maybe its an option for cheaper, but the ones for 145.00 are new.

wont there be a problem fitting an HE thats 7" tall?
the stock oil cooler takes up room at the bottom and the front rebar is in the way as well.

when i looked and measured to see how much room i have, 7" might be difficult to fit unless u find a new place for the oil cooler or perhaps fit some of the HE behind the rebar. that might be possible with the 26" length.
are u perhaps going to fit this in front of the rebar?

the width is nice though! theres definitely enough space for 3.5" or even more.
can u do other sizes besides the one u have listed above?

yes i believe they are on the same side because the stock HE uses a dual pass system. if on opposite ends it would be a single pass system.

i think either way is possible but it seems simpler to do the dual pass since the hoses are already made to fit that way.

jicl55: im not sure how much room the CL has but maybe u can get it on a lift and take a look from underneath so that u can take some measurements.
i had to remove the plastic covering there to see and measure the space i have. it just takes a minute to do that.

Heard back from exotic-metal55.... looks like a stock 03-04 cobra is about as big as I can safely go.... said his was from stock gt500 2008, but I think they are all the same.... 26X6X1.5 it is (after my car gets back from the stealership, that is)
