Yup I figured I'd post that up as I read it in the W211 section and couldn't believe that a full BT solution like that was so cheap and easy install too!!!! That was my reasoning for getting it as well, better get it now before they stop supporting it or before the price goes back up!

So I installed my unit. My phone recognizes Mercedes Link. Yet nothing works. When I press TEL is says no phone installed.
I spoke with two dealers, both were ignorant saying nothing could be done. Do I need to have my car version coded for the phone? Dealer claims it is plug and play.

Yes, you will need to have it version coded. You may be able to open the connection once you make a call, but for it to link up when you get near the car will require version coding. There is also something about a 'phone present' tele-aid setting. People have also recommended having them code the car with a phone connected to the bt puck.

It DOES need to be done and it WILL work...don't take no for an answer

OK thanks, I just need to find a willing dealer. Mercedes of Bakersfield has not clue about this process and gave me funny looks.
Anyone have any recommendations of a So Cal dealer that has done this?

ok guys, I know this has been beat to death and back. I went to the dealer today and the forman installed the cradle adapter to my center concol. The phone synched to the cradle but when I pressed the tel button it said no phone installed. I mentioned that he might have to use the SDS to set it up but he said that you dont need to it should pick it up. He said that my car is a later 04 with the newer telematics. Now that I think of it does the amg command logo have anything to do with it? What are my other options here? v60 with puck?

the phone was all set up. The phone was connected to the cradle. The cradle would not cummunicate with the command. Very annoying. At least he didnt charge me any labor or parts cost.

JakPro1...Do you have the B 67 87 5855 Puck with Tail installed to an Audi-20 or Command. I thought there was no command in 2003 E-Class.

I have a 2003 E55 and I had my Mercedes dealer order the part and install it a year ago. The bill was $402.00 for the part and installation including activation through STAR. It took less than two hours for installation. It's well worth it as I feel it improves safety.

Even if you install the bluetooth yourself, you will need someone to activate the phone through STAR.

I have an iPhone 3G and it works great. It pairs up with the bluetooth without any issues.
