Some has speculated that there will be options or other enhancements that will come later. My dealer said the panoramic roof will be available, so are there other things?

Biggest one is, no COMMAND on the early cars. I wouldn't even think of buying a car in the year 2003 without a factory navigation system.

I think it is pitiful that MBZ can not get the DVD Comand ready. BMW had DVD nav option for all their cars for the 2003 model year.

My dealer told me that Command will not be available for some time. I had such a bad experience with the nav system on my Audi and BMW I wouldn't order it even if it was immediately available.

I ordered my E55 last week for May delivery.

MN-E55, welcome to the board.

What type of problems with your Nav systems?

Many people have problems with things like A/C, sunroofs, power windows, etc. but they still want them in their cars.

The nav problems eminated from the fact that the systems on those cars are extremely difficult to use. There is nothing the least bit intuitive about their use, the screens are small and the 'voice overs' are obnoxious. The early software was notoriously inaccurate.......instructing you to take side streets instead of the interstate for a 25 mile trip as an example.

I realize that the Command system has addressed those issues and should work beautifully. However, for me it's a personal decision. I happen to know where I am going most of the time having lived here for 43 years. I also didn't want to spend a couple of grand on a system I wouldn't use. I really think I didn't want to wait until the '04's for it. I did get every other option except the phone and the vented seats. I can't wait.

My dealer is pretty clueless. He was guessing a base of $75K and I suspect he's probably about right. I've got something like $10K in options. Realize that MBUSA won't tell their dealers much because they can't keep a secret. I guarantee that most of the users in this forum know a great deal more than most dealers about the car.

I'm also on an RS6 waiting list. That dealer tells me that it will be about an $85K sticker. I bet it will have fewer options so pricing will be about par with the E55. Clearly too much for an Audi in it's final year or so of production in that body. Audi is in over their heads and I am going to walk away from that deal and stick with the E55.

Don't walk away before you "flip it". Some anxious buyers are forking over as much as $16k for spots.

Amazing what people will do with their money.

Anyone interested in a #4 RS6 position at the largest Audi dealer in North America?
