new here..
hey guys, i'm new here and to the mercedes cars. i just sold my 2003 mustang cobra and picked up a black 2006 E55, which i have fallen in love with for the week i have had it haha 
i'm looking forward to checking out this forum much more.. i attached some quick pics i took with my phone when i first picked her up, more to come..
only have one thing i have noticed with the car, maybe you guys could help me out.. sometimes when i lay into it (no particular gear or speed) the rpm jump up but the car just sits there not pulling at all.. almost like it has some belt slip.. but no weird noises or smell. Any ideas? Most of the time she pulls like a bat out of hell

Some were mentioning the Code 3 HE. It's an upgraded Heat Exchanger in the front of the car. Here's a pic...
The intercooler pump is mostly likely your problem though. It's happened to many of us on here. If you are still under warranty, go to the dealer to exchange it. If not, just go aftermarket with the Johnson CM30 pump. It's VERY cheap, but definitely worth it!

Does it literally lag or does it feel like it has less power? If less power, then maybe your SC is shutting off due to the water pump going bad. If it literally lags, it may be something in the tranny. Be more specific. Does the motor rev and no go or does it not, etc etc.

it just seems like it has less power.. no lag.. just rpm jump up and it gains speed just way slow..

Sun called it. When the water pump for the SC cooling system dies, the heat builds up and the computer shuts the SC down. If it has warranty, take it in and get the updated pump. IMO it is as good as the CM30. If no warranty and no plans to do major cooling mods, then do get the CM30.

Hi. Congrats!! This sounds like your tranny is low on fluid or the tranny is slipping when hot. Have it really checked out before any more hard driving. Its alot of $$$ if damaged!!

they checked out the car and replaced the pump, havent run into the issue since and the cars running great.. I took her out to a side road and did a 0-60 pull using my friends stop watch on his iphone (all we had) it was saying 4.9 seconds which i see pretty good for bone stock.. but quick question what kind of rwhp #'s do these cars put down bone stock? i would assume around 400rwhp? thanks guys
