E63, M3 SMG, F355GTS
I notice you have a 355....I had a 355F1 back in the day and after that, the SMG gearbox just felt slow and awkward. I tried to like it and gave it several tries with no success. The early F1 box was just flat out violent with its immediacy making everything else seem slow shifting. In fact, the 355F1 was slow but the gearbox made the car for me. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Since then, the only paddle shifters that I have come to terms with are the Porsche PDK and VW/Audi DSG.

MBWorld Fanatic!
The 355F1 that I had was an early F1 so the shifts were very crisp and at times, they were almost violent. Dropping 2 gears under full throttle was pure sex. They softened it up after the first batch of F1 trannys to reduce wear and tear (and accommodate whining non-enthusiast owners) and you are correct that it wasn't right again until the 360.

Our manual mode blows, I don't touch it and I am a young guy that has driven lots of manuals, its pointless almost. Check out Juices thread on shift training, so you can get your car to shift at higher RPMs, I want to make a chip of my own and sell it, where in c it does what it does and in S, its true ***** to the wall, non-adaptive. The new cars have S+ which fixes this. I want SL63, but I'm broke =[ oh beans.
Edit, using S and then holding down shift, will make it a bit more agressive too, its kinda a "safer" manual. Also, even trying to hit the shift points w/ 7 gears and the delay, DONE.
