E63 Cannot Rev over 3,500 RPM in Park?
Today I wanted to rev my E63 to hear the nice exhaust growl but can't, it will slowly rev to about 3,500 rpm. Is it normal and is there a way to defeat this? I noticed other vehicles like to M6 could, why can't the E63.

If you wanted to rev it(My advice, just leave it in gear, rock and roll the whole thing), put it in drive, then bump it to N and rev quick, I think you need to be doing at least 15mph.

You're not suppose to REV the engine when you're in PARK. I suspect that you already took several thousand miles of useful life out of your transmission. If you need to REV the engine, do it in neutral.

As everyone else said, its there for a protective reason. The M6 doesnt have park so its either in neutral, drive, or sequential mode.

Get on a hill.
Start rolling about 10MPH in N
You can rev to your hearts content. I did this once by accident. The best thing I can say is that with no load the engine revs "freely". Very quick.
