E63 vs CLS55 ...
The E63 is a 2007 with 30K miles. Has a minor nick on rear bumper and keyed door (about 2-3")
The CLS 55AMG is a mint 2006, CPO 33K miles. 030 package.
Both are optioned about the same other than the 030 package. (The E63 has navigation p1 and p2 packages.)
Which would you prefer and why?
Thanks.

- lower miles per year on average.
- CPO
- 030 package (a big positive)
- to some a more attractive looking vehicle
I just want to know the pros and cons of the E vs the CLS.
To be honest ... I'm not 100% sold on the looks of the CLS where as I LOVE the look of the E63.
But that's because I've never seen a CLS and it's one of those things that, like a good song, you might not like it at first, but then you grow to really love it.

However, the 63 is a great engine. It is by no means torquless or "have no torque" as many tend to believe. The torque output is no where near as low as on the M5/M6s. In fact, the 63 engine has a lot of torque. It offers a happy medium between brute low-end "torqy" engines and very strong top-end engines. A stock E63 will "easily" hang with a stock E55 down below and will definitely hang with a stock M5/M6 at high speeds. It's kind of a medium-range engine. It's not as strong as the E55 in terms of low-end torque, but will still hang with it in the 1/4 mile. And it's not as strong in the top-end range as the M5/M6, but will still hang with it in high speed runs. You get the best of both worlds

Test drive was solid .... Didn't really floor it , but a 3/4 throttle run on the highway and she definitely pulls like a beast.
I have to admit I a little disappointed in the quality of the stereo. The dealer which is mediocre at best.
Do these not come with the same stereo that's standard in the E55?
The display says Logic7
The Sticker says Standard Radio

I'm still not sure what I gain with the 030 package ... no one seems to know the details of this package at the dealer . Just that it supposedly has it.
Is there a way to tell for sure that it exists on the car?
- car will have different rims
- bigger drilled/sloted brakes
- different steering wheel
- higher top speed
- and an LSD
- also belive the suspention is a little lower
Here's a pic from the dealer site ... what do you think?

Can this stereo be upgraded as is. I've read there's a way to upgrade it's performance without changing this head unit in the car?
Also curious how many speakers does this "standard" radio have?
just my .55
Also ... per our other discussion, can you tell me if there's a way to find out if they "de-tuned" the car?
BTW what source are you using for testing the audio quality?
The bit rate from Sat SIRI is super low quality.
Attachment 155433
Sorry I'll try to find the file, this is the thumb,
As I recall 10 speakers plus two for hands free phone.

Do these cars come standard with subs?
The car is factory warrantied until January 2010. Then Certified up to 100,000 mile until 2011 in the deal.
They offered me addition 1 or 2 years.
1year to 2012 for $2100+
2years to 2013 for 2850.
I was told these prices come from Mercedes and are non negotiable (Everything is negotiable IMO)
Do these rates sound reasonable and would you do it.
Supposedly, because I'm a repeat Mercedes customer I get a $700 discount.
Thanks
Pete
There are many tuners ie. Renntech, Kleenman, VRP, LET, EvoTech tat can get you fixed up, the biggest gain on the tune comes with a pulley. Ok now you'll be search, read, drive for the next month..
