Just wieghed my c20's with tires

Not really that interesting but just for shi_ts and giggles I weighed my new setup and decided to share the info. Not sure what the stock chromies with tires weigh but maybe someone could chime in and let me know.

Fronts 19x8.5 Toyo T1r's 275 30 19: 43 lbs.
Rears 19x10 Toyo T1R's 245 35 19: 45 lbs.

I also wieghed my rear dr's (MT's 265 40 18's) and Kosie's 18 x 9.

Rear drag setup: 44 lbs.

Stocks with tires are 50 - 60lbs depending on tires.

Yeah...that sound about right. I was thinking that I saved about 15 lbs per wheel which includes the Evosport rotors.

That is conservative. You likely gained 8ish on each wheel. Would have been ten but I assume you went bigger and wider. You also gain about 10lbs per corner with the EVO rotors. I can tell a major difference in just the HREs vs OEM. Do that and the EVO rotors at once and I bet you notice a big difference.

HRE competition series are one of the best out there. The best win is that we are talking about unsprung weight... Big difference in acceleration.

Comps are the best

I felt the difference in performance when I installed my C97s. I can even tell mid-speed accelleration is much better. I don't even have to step on the "go" pedal as hard to get to the speed I want to be in. I don't know if I make any sense in trying to describe it...

In addition to the reduced unsprung weight, the reduction in the rotational inertia is another factor to the more responsive feel in accelleration. I'm planning to put Evo rotors once the OEMs need replacing. Evo claims >8 lbs of weight reduction on each corner.

9 lbs reduced with the HRE C97 + another 8 or so lbs for the Evo rotors...that's over 17 lbs per corner and over 68 lbs of unspung weight taken off of the suspension. Can't go wrong with that! While our cars may not have to sure-footedness of a running back, perhaps these reduction in weight and rotational inertia might bring it's handling closer to a linebacker.

Kidding aside...the comp series is a great choice.

The HRE Comps weigh less than BBS LM's.

I got my first set of Comps (C21's) back in 2005 and they weighed:

Front 19x8.5: 20.50lbs
Rear 20x10: 20.50lbs

Yes both front and rear were the same. Verified at Evosport.

My BBS LM's on my M3 weighed about 23lbs each 19x8.5 and 19x10. I wont comment on quality though. I got a chance to look at my BBS LM's real close before I mounted another set on the GT-R--- rear step lip as well for add strength!!!

I do think there are other BBS Wheels that weigh less than the LM's...

Did you ever have any problems with your C21's? When you say "I wont comment on quality though" I'm trying to figure out if it's HRE or BBS you had quality issues with. Please let us know.

Im sorry that might have come across as a bad rap on HRE which is not the case- I have owned 6 sets of their wheels and have them on 2 of my 4 cars now.

My only issue with HRE ever was with the C21's, the paint started chipping from hour 3 (yes it started peeling around the logo when I got home). Evosport took them back and mitigated for me with HRE- HRE fixed them and all was well until I sold the car. Props to Evo and HRE for handling the issue. It just was odd that the paint came off so early in the game. I was one of the first ones to get the wheel.

That is why HRE wheels are now powdercoated.

I have tracked mine and am EXTREMELY tough on them. Never a break.

Well my other 5 sets were not powdercoated and never had issues... I think it was when they were using an outside vendor for paint.

My stocks are same size as your new wheels. And unfortunately nearly 100 lbs extra rotational weight.

Your 1/4 mile times should really improve with the new rims. Lets get to the track buddy
