Dear all,

i am new in this forum

i have installed om my 2004 E55 an 82mm TB (Benz one, he talked about switching wires is a must and it is not strieght, he have to rotate it to fit ) and SLR pulley + changed Resonators into sport ones for more air flow.

the tuned shop said its 600hp @ the crank.

i noticed that it really flies from 0 -100 and the traction is flashing untill reach 80 km

but i feel their is a lack when RPM is below 2400 and it is heavy to pull it self unless i downshift the gear to increace the RPM

and if i remove my leg from the petrol paddle at speed 30km, it feels like jumping and stoping ( hmmm, like giving a little acceleration and stoping and removing ) and also when the gear is on (N) if a hit the paddle fast for one shot ( 1 seconed) it shows weak >< and like it wants to shut off and then return normal when the RPM increase

i shall post some videos soon enough.

any ideas to make it tuned better after these mods,

i did my car in Dubai.

Regards,
Ali
hope you accept me in your forums,

Hello Ali and welcome,

Firstly I have a few questions for you

1. Does your car have an ECU tune? (if yes from who?)
2. Are you sure you have an SLR pulley ? (if yes please post pics & its size)
3.changed isonators into sport ones (what is this?)

Now for your questions:

82mm TB (Benz one, he talked about switching wires is a must and it is not streight, he have to rotate it to fit

Yes it needs rewiring and more if it is the 82mm tb, are you sure its not the 80mm tb?

the tuned shop said its 600hp @ the crank.

It would be very hard to belive, more likly 570-580, but that is still not easy to get

and if i remove my leg from the petrol paddle at speed 30km, it feels like jumping and stoping

This is normal and happenes most when the car has been cold or started for the first time on that day yes?, this also increase when you add a pulley. So far normal. You can control it with easing into the pedle really slowly

good luck and post pics

[QUOTE=Zod;35034411. Does your car have an ECU tune? (if yes from who?)
[/QUOTE]

I have a feeling that this might have been an MHP tuned car, as Andy was there tuning MANY cars according to his posts on absolutelydriven.

Well, we will see

Good luck sorting it out.

See yeah

Firstly I have a few questions for you

1. Does your car have an ECU tune? (if yes from who?)
yes it does, it is called a Digi-tec garage in dubai.
2. Are you sure you have an SLR pulley ? (if yes please post pics & its size)
i will try to post a picture this weekend for it
3.changed isonators into sport ones (what is this?)
instead of direct pipes >< , i will try to hook it up and take some pictures
Now for your questions:

82mm TB (Benz one, he talked about switching wires is a must and it is not streight, he have to rotate it to fit

Yes it needs rewiring and more if it is the 82mm tb, are you sure its not the 80mm tb?

yes, because i asked him before the installation if it is 80mm and he said its 82mm and he showed it to me, + the 80mm will have it wiring in the top middle not rotated at about 10 o'clock and had to put a spacer to make it fit well. pictures will be added

Who tuned the car?

What size is the pulley? If it is larger, then it adds lag along with more power.

Do you have added cooling? If not, get it.

80mm TB vs 82mm TB shouldn't matter for your questions.

Important is who tuned it (brand?)

Who tuned the car?
a shop in dubai called Digi-tec

im not sure, i asked him which brand !, but he refused to tell me, he said i can't .
Do you have added cooling? If not, get it.
no i didn't, and it is hard to find here aftermarket products for these things, i hope someone can help me and point at a good cooling package or parts that are easy to install. i noticed that when i hit the car alot an extra line in the engine temp guage increases, + my S/C cooler pump is still OEM and nut replaced with the updated version of it, and now >< the S\C shuts off more than before .

TB is a mercedes one, and the pulley a didn't saw any brand logo on it from where i can see. ECU is done by the shop.

my friend has the same tuning but with sport air filters and removed catalysts and he went ahead by a full 2 body lengths with a MKB 620hp.

i am willing to try with him, to check if my car has some guts in it or not, i do feel that it through me back when i hit full throttle, but never found someone to try with

That car will nto make 620hp with just those mods

and if he beat a real 620 mkb wooo nice!

and yes you do seem to have the 82mm tb as it needs a plate to fit, which Y pipe did you use?

Also updated OEM mercedes pump is good, get it, tell service it is recall and yours turns off alot, if you must show him, make sure you get your car hot so it will turn off when you do the test drive and gl

he did it, i know the two guys

i recall that the y pipe looked diffrent than before, i shall post pictures soon enough

after this tuning the S\C turns off more often >< and @ the last service @ 35K he mentioned it turned off and it needs to be replaced, but they wanted to charge me for it @@ so i refused. ofcourse the car now is out of warrenty because it has been more than 3 years, mine is 2005 but built in late 2004.

so can i make them change it even after the warrent is out ?!
now the milage is ABOUT 43K km

The reason i say it does not have 620 is because Pulley and tune are not enough to get you to that power level, even with TB, unles its a super large pulley and 82mm tb...but stil very high hp number.

Have you dynoed any of these cars?

as for the pump, well it all depends on your dealer, Tell him the pump is a Recall item because the old one has shown to fail and see your luck

I run a modified one, but had OEM benz one and it was fine.

YOu have to know this though
The bigger the pulley the hotter the car will get

also regurding luanching, MKB car. It could be having traction problems, because with much hp & torq impossible not to spin wiht normal street tires and roads.

if you have 620 hp you will not be able to launch with 1rst gear..only maybe 1/4 - 1/2 throttel .... if you use full throttel you will see lots of smoke and the car going from left to right

Do a rolling race with the mkb car and lets see the results... if its the same, then i say dyno both cars on the same dyno at same time,to see what power they are really making to compare.

Drive safly GCC brother

i will try to change th IC next service, or by my self if it easy ^_^
any advice for other cooling parts ! such as Heat Exchanger or addtional intercooler ?

and when i hit ful throttle from 0 , it sure spin alot >< so i usually hit it 1/2 and then push it to the max without hitting the kick down button untill i reach about 70 km , but still it shows some spinning and traction when shifting to the sconed gear @@

this the 82mm TB with the spacer between it and the S/C ( mercedes one, not an after market )

here is the Y-pipe that joins the TB , it is exactly fitting on it, ( like plug and play ), it looks clean, i don't remember the old one hot it looked like.

this is the new Pulley, and there is a number on it (316541)

why are these two holes are open ? !! i saw a lot of pictures that they had covers on them ?

finally

a video of my car after ECU/Pulley/82mm TB/removing catalyst
