82mm TB and a pulley ( pictures )

this the 82mm TB with the spacer between it and the S/C ( mercedes one, not an after market )

here is the Y-pipe that joins the TB , it is exactly fitting on it, ( like plug and play ), it looks clean, i don't remember the old one how it looked like.

this is the new Pulley, and there is a number on it (316541), can someone tell me what the size, the tuner refused to tell me and i don't know why !!! ><

finally

a video of my car after ECU/Pulley/82mm TB/removing catalyst

Thanks for the pics.
Do you know the y pipe part number and why they mounted your tb at an angle like that? Thanks

Did you replace the s/c pulley or the crank pulley. The s/c in the picture looks like the stock one.
And why can't your tuner tell you what pulley it is?

there is a number on it, but from the back side, i will try to get it for you.

and the TB like that so it can fit and stay still with the spacer.

yeah i replaced it, and yes i was wondering that it looks like the stock >< but it shows it is a new one, so i thought it is bigger, i think i will measure it, to be 100% sure, and i will post the size

and i don't know why he didn't want to tell me, but i'm going to ask him tomorow about the size, coz im pissed off, i raced my friend which has a stock, i couldn't run alot from him, maybe 4 meters ahead fo him only and that was after racing untill the 4th gear ingaged, which is close to 240km . so there isn't alot difference in performance @@.

i called the tuner and told him about what happened, he was shocked @@ and asked me to come back to him to check the ECU !!

i went in the engineering mode and checked the date of the ECU ( last date of modified ), it was still old late 2004 ><

does it change after an ECU upgrade or not ?

ok, the Y-pipe is an //AMG
and the part number is: A1130940103

and the pipes that are going into the Y-pipe from the intake
Part number: A1130942482

hmmmm
i measured the S/C pulley Circumference and it is 28cm

how can i know what is the size of my crank pulley and where it is ?

you can take the car to the dealership and ask them to show you the ECU reflash table, or you can go to any other tuner who has the STAR SDS.

sad to tell you, but that is the stock 74mm Y-pipe part number (the 80mm 's being ..0003)
- what's the part number stamped on the TB ?

- I'm not sure you have the SLR's S/C pulley ... simply because it is the same as 55K stock. What is different in SLR ' S/C is the internal gearing.
As you says it's now shining, maybe your guy filed it down a bit: infact, if you are sure of 28cm size, it means about 89mm diameter .. versus 91mm stock. (smaller S/C pulley or bigger crank pulley have the same effect of elongating gears, like in a bycicle ..)

ciao

Check out the number on the intake housing (the metal part between the super charger and TB, has AMG stamp on it)...might also be stock one by the looks of things.

but you do have the 82mm tb thats for sure....but not the rest of the things to make it all flow well

if you do not mind me asking how much did he charge you for the them ?

you should find the TB number stamped upon the mechanism' cover plate, left side.

your Inlet collector ...1400412 is also stock !

.. but your 168mm is a good crank pulley

how does the inlet collector helps ?

and for the TB, do u mean by mechanism cover plate " the round metal part that flips and open" ?

dyno,

Y-Pipe is modified from inside (removed the internal plastic to become wider and fit the new TB)

TB # i will check it and post the number

inlet collector has a spacer before it, although it is smaller, but the air flows faster.

pulley size as he conformed is 172mm

a question !

is there a larger inlet collector that can be used ?

Listen

There is an 80mm tb set which is made of the follwoing
 • 80mmtb
 • Y pipe
 • intake housing

all of these are bigger then stock, what you did was replace the first one with the 82mm tb and still using the smaller stock sizes.

Becarful with the Y pipe as it has a metal ring in the middle of it. If this becomes lose and is sucked into your engine

where can i get an Y-pipe for 80mm TB? , it may help
any part # ?

the metal ring in the Y-pipe was removed and the plastic rubber in the inner side where it connects to the TB was removed to fit into it.

you don't need to worry so much with a bigger TB ... it's only a FAVOLA (story in english, I think) from tuners and biz to suck you money

... unless you already have at least 700hp

what do u mean by not worrying with a bigger TB >< ?

and yeah , my car wasn't that powerful, i went back to him and he plugged it to STAR and an error showed that there pressure of the fuel wansn't high, so he increased it from normel > slightly rich

a hole new era of performance, tires were rolling untill 130km @@

i tried it before and after @ the same street

and i removed seat belt beeping and -10 for the fan .

will changing the intake and filters make noticable difference ?

.. you mean that after setting it richer it was better performing ?

I didn't see, yet, a flow test showing that our intake is not capable of flowing what is demanded by our heads
I mean that TB dimension in european cars is usually over-rated, not under - rated, therefore the stock intake is suitable for flowing much more than stock heads allow.

so, you'll really need to think about bigger intake only after a lot of other things (exhaust headers, head work or, briefly speaking, after you already got much more hp from other things)

in any case, it remains fun to play with our bolt on parts
.. for me is the same, too

there were several stages, i think 5
poor
slightly poor
normal
slightly rich
richer

he set for me : slightly richer

although he said , mine was the first 55 he had to do like that ><, to adjust it with the air flow that is going in.
