E63 Dash with Mysterious Blue Light
I bought the E63 in April and I had ust noticed there are 2 blue light?? at the dashboard top area. I cant turn on and it does not light up. Anyone has this? This E has the factory carbon fiber interior.

the previous owner had a K04 radar dectector built into the car, the lights are for the radar detector.

in other words your instrument cluster has been opened up in order to wire in the two blue LEDs.

You are going to have to look for other signs like the front radar receiver mounted behind the grill area or in one of the lower intakes. Other signs would be the power controls somewhere under the dash area or in the center storage bin or ashtray.

Frequently these are removed before resale as it doesn't take long to pull them and they aren't cheap. The LEDs are left in place as they are cheap and leave holes.

Ya, you could try to hunt it down, if you knew what you were looking for! Do the lights blink?

It looks like a Passport system but you can us any LED"s with the hard wire kits!

I'll try to look for all this described area and post update.

The car seemed like it was repoed, because when I took delivery, there was the front plate, lots of receipts, one receipt was for the replacement of the tires, wipers oil and filter (good sign of maintenance), kids toys and candy and stufff all nicely put into a plastic bag and tucked in the trunk net compartment.

Thats A K40. I had that in my 08 997TT and it sucks. I got popped on 95 doing 98 in a 70.

My valentine is 50x better. 3 years with no ticket.
