Just ordered a set of Nitto NT05's

Anyone have any experience with these?

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...see-sizes.html

I saw the post regarding these Nitto NT05's a while back and have done a little research. Seems to maybe be a good tire.

I just ordered a set for my E63. Fronts are 245-35-19 and rear are 275-30-19.

Before my stock wheels were stolen I was running the Toyo R888's. Loved those tires, but the dont make them in my size for 19's. For 18" tires I would have picked up another set of those.

For 19's though to get a decent tire seems to be a little tough. The Toyo's had a treadwear of 100. These NT05's have a 200 treadwear. My Conti Sport Contact 3's have a 280 treadwear. So these NT05's should be a stickier tire then what I am currently running, but obviously not as sticky and should last longer then the R888's.

These NT05's appear to have an aggressive footprint. I am excited to try them out.

Has anyone else put these on their 63 or 55?

Well since no one seems to stock these tires I had to order them through my pals at Radial Tire in Silver Spring, MD. Should be in by the end of the week and hopefully installed by early next week.

My Conti Sport Contact 3's are still up for sale. Same tire sizes as noted above. If anyone is interested they still have 85% or better of their life left. Would prefer to sell all 4 but might consider selling fronts and rears seperatly if necessary. Make me an offer

Nittos are very good, I like Toyo's better though for the grip. Those Contis must be like rocks..lol

Yeah those Toyo R888's were REALLy grippy. Cant get them for my 19's thought

These Nitto's seems to be the next good thing in 19"

When I goto the track I put on my Kosei 18" wheels with my MT's

Try a T1R when you get a chance, It is an amazing street tire and reasonably priced.

yeah for my purposes they suck! Hard as can be. But in general a good all around tire. Just not my slice of bread

Whatever we're tuning!
Jeff-
I've got quite a few cars running Nitto Invo's and the consensus is they all love them.

One TTM E55 that is going 11.1X just went from the NT05's to the Invo's for everyday use(MT's for the track) and he said he loves them.

Good luck with the tire and tell us what you think.

PS Your car photo shoot is awesome!!

The NT-05 is an amazing tire if you live in a warmer climate. I find at temps below 65 degrees or so that they have less grip than the average performance street tire. When the tire warms up they stick like glue. The stiffer sidewalls help with turn in and transforms the front end feel of my C32. They work great for my driving style here in SoCal, but they are not for everyone.

Funny you mention the Invo's...
When I bought the rims I bought them with the Invo's, but when they showed up at my doorstep they had the SP3's on them. I dont like these tires much for my driving style, but are a good all around tire. I wanted the Invo's but had to get wheels on my car as the stockers had been stolen and I wanted my car back out of the shop, so I took it as is....
yeah these NT05's will be for everyday use, and I do switch the rear rims and tires to my MT's at the strip.

Yeah i am just getting these for the spring/summer/early fall use. Late last winter 2008 I put a set of Toyo R888's on and burned through them nice by the end of the year and switched out to a little more of an all season tire. I am doing the same with these NT05's for this summer. Should be on by beginning of next week and I will probably run these all the way til late October / early November when I put car back in the garage for a couple months. I have 2 other cars so can switch out when the temps get cold and drive something else when the weather is nasty.

I am excited to try these tires out. I want something fairly aggressive that will be nice and grippy in dry weather, so I hope this will be a good fit for my e63!

I am in the market for a set of these - as you know the E63 comes with 245 up front - can we go to a 265 up front - with no rubbing (not lowered - stock ride height). Also, any advantages from going from a 40 to 35 - like the rear?

not sure. i am doing 245-35-19 in front and 275-30-19 in back. Not sure if a 265 would fit up front or not....never tried one that large. Have done 255 but not 265

If you did 255 - did you like it? Why are going back to 245?

For me since I drive with the car really low when I would turn the wheel all the way one way or the other it would rub a hair on the plastic. in my lowered position 245s do not hit at all...

Well these came in today. Going to tire shop in a couple hours to have these put on. I am excited to try these wheels out as my daily's for the summer! Of course for the track I got my Kosei's with my MT's on them but for daily driving all summer these should be a great tire!

Anyway my contis are coming off and if anyone is interested in these almost new tires let me know. I can take pics if necessary after they come off.

The contact patch on the NT05's is insane. They are my next tire of choice. My friend has them on his 335I and he like them alot.

cool! i am leaving now to go get them put on

Yeah they remind me a lot of what the contact patch on the Toyo R888's...thats one reason I am getting them. Also have twice the treadwear compared to the r888. r888 has 100 treadwear and nt05 has treadwear 200 so should last a little longer.

well I just got home from having them put on. Only got about 25 miles on them so not nearly broken in, but wow I like them so far.
They remind me ALOT of my R888's that I had. Really grippy. Maybe a hair less grippy then my toyos were. Also not as loud. For some reason i expected them to be louder.
Gonna go out and run some errands and play with them for a little while. So far for the money I really like them!
