The person tinting my windows told my dad and I that he can't get the rear door apart so he can't finish the rear windows! It look absolutely ridiculous and I was wonder if anyone knows how to get the door apart? My dad has already written the check out of my account and I am temped to cancel it before the guy cashes it. He was a cool dude and understanding, but I am off on business and my dad gave him a check for unfinished work. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Look to me like this person doesn't know how to tint window at all...I've never had anyone telling me that they can't tint the rear window....Maybe you should go to another professional window tinting...IMHO..

Thanks for the quick response. I would cancel the check, but BoA wants $30!!! I'll get my parents to work it out tomorrow. It would have never happened if I was in town, but at least my dad was willing to drop my car off at the shop. Again, thanks!

I sent the door diagram and a picture of AMGFan's car(with the correct tint) VIA email to my mom. She will take care of the situation tomorrow. I will post the outcome. Thanks again, Joel!

I agree. There is no need to take your door apart.

How would you be able to tint that far back corner with the door panel on? Honestly, I can't remember what it looks like from the inside.

He must not be a true professional then. My dad has accepted the car as finished. It's sitting at the house, while the "professional" tinting person is cashing my check...

Yeah, when I got mine tinted, the installer said that most less experienced tint shops leave the back corner of the window bare. He certainly got the tint in there without taking the door apart. It looks a lot better without that corner missing.

surprised you took the e55 to a tinter who can't do that rear corner. i guess since the car is accepted, you're SOL, but at least let the tint guy know that he should check out tinting forums or something...had mine done in 03, and it's perfect.

will have them up when the taillights and markers are tinted.

Also, shouldn't you have a lifetime warranty on the tint? if it peels or anything, they should re-do it right? most of the tinters around my area do a lifetime warranty...

good luck, hope it all turns out ok!

*Update*

After a very confrontational phone call with the owner of the Auto and Tire shop, I was told that the tint person won't be back into town for another two to three weeks. So in the meanwhile, my car is sitting in my garage. I asked for my money back and he said the tint person would charge me to take the tint off...riiiiiiight, lol. I told him since nothing would be able to be done for another two to three weeks, that I would give him another go at it. He said, and I quote: "We will get them windows done right". Wish me luck...

good luck! it should be just that rear quarter on both sides....he should cut the template from the outside of the window, and should be able to slip in the inside with enough tint spray and angled wedges

NC. I figured the inbred accent would have given it away?

lol, he might have. I don't really care if he wastes it away on hookers and blow as long as I get "them windows done right".

That's what I thought, but have you ever been to some of those places in Southern Utah?
