Stock Dyno Figures for an SL55 2004 -- thoughts?

So finally after 40k miles said oh heck lets see if this car is a dud or not.

So it came back with 410rwhp and 468 rwtq. I did a search but its been so long since anyone did a stock dyno pull that I cant find real info! Everyone is off making 550rwhp that these stock numbers are really boring now!

Thanks for the info. Hope these numbers are not dud status. I just want to make sure I have reasonable power after 40k miles.

Final note. This was on a dynapac. How do these results compare to other load dyno machines? Any draw backs to this style of testing?

If you can, post the dyno chart.

That seems a bit low.

I say this because i've seen dyno charts from a W211 E55 posted by Vadim that ranges somewhere in the 390-429rwhp. I would think the SL55's would be a tad bit higher.

Pump maybe?

Correct same engine but AMG markets it a bit different in terms crank HP.

SL55 - 507hp
E55 - 469hp

Actually, only the 2007 SL55 was rated at 507 hp, the 2003 to 2006 models were rated at 493 hp.

They do have the same engine, but definitely not identical software ECU, TCU, etc..... I would still expect to see the SL closer to the 430 range.

I will post my dyno plot tomorrow but yes it seems a tad low. For the record my BMW track car was tested on the same dyno and it came in about 10 rwhp low for its upgrades as well. The Dynapac is normally a bit lower than a dynojet from what I have seen. So say it is at 420hp and I think the car is healthy. After 3 15 second pulls the car never had a super charger issue so I think the pump is ok for now. That being said I am on pump number 4 at this point!

For DYNApac you are right on. 2007 SL55s make around 440RWHP stock due to 80 mm TB vs. 74mm on older models.

James you need to stick to the W210 forum. Its widely acknowledged that the W211 E55 factory numbers were down played by the factory. Almost all stock dynos have shown 500 hp at crank or circa that range.

Anybody who has 469 crank hp on a E55 got a bad car.

410 on dynapack, is a healthy motor under LOAD.

Here is more about Dynapack.
