Clicking sound under acceleration and deceleration?
This has been happening for a while and I didn't really notice it until yesterday when I was cruising with my windows down. When I blip the throttle I would hear a click and when the car would dip down from me getting off the gas pedal, I would hear another click. I don't think it's my lug bolts that are too long and hitting anything because they don't click/hit the parking brake. I don't hear the clicking when rolling normally.
Anyone have any idea what it may be?
btw, regarding this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...-rear-car.html it turned out to be my exhaust tip that was too close to my diffuser and the diffuser having some loose a bit due to my poor 3m taping job, and rattling against the tip. I had my mufflers readjusted for better clearance since, and it's fixed now

I already got the motor mounts done a couple months ago and the tranny mounts were ok. Was nice meeting you as well man. Your car sounds like a beast. Time to chip it so you can destroy Vader :P

lol you were racing by yourself then Ricker, b/c I sure wasn't. You have a stock car, and so do I (powerwise), last I checked, there's nothing marvellous about an SL600, other than the fact the top and drop.
To set the record straight, when I accelerated quickly alongside Vader (not racing), he got me by half a length. Cool.
We just cruise around homie, he got kids in the car, I got potholes to worry about, I roll slow and low, that's my motto. If you want a REAL race, I'm sure there are plenty of E55 owners out there who'd be willing to race you, especially at events like the one held at Famoso. That's the best way to figure out how fast (or slow) your car is.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Anyway, regarding the clicking sound, I did more experimenting after I posted the thread. Driving in manual mode, it clicks everytime, probably because the shifting is more abrupt and I run each gears longer, vs a smoother shift at lower RPM with the tranny in S mode. But then at speed, I don't hear jack. I wonder if then it could really by the tranny mounts, but I have no idea at this time...

The clicking might be your brake pads not fitting right in the carriers. This happened to me with my e46. The brake pads in the rear where not a tight fit for the carriers and the pads where clapping back and forth in the carrier. It you lift the car off the ground and manually turn the wheel you will hear it click or pop if this is what is causing it.

I just swapped out the pads, the only way that this could be the problem is if you are using pads that are not OEM.

Hey guys I might be up there this Friday if all goes well with work. Maybe some of us could get together and make a few friendly passes or just grab a few drinks and bs a bit. Either way it would great to finally meet some of Socal boys.
I'm sure Sean will be down to make a few rolls. Let me know if anyone will be down if not I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities.
Sorry Godfather but I don't have any input on your problem. Hope you get it figured out.

Ricker you still need to come out to the OC and bring GF with you. Then we can run turbo vs turbo....

I only edited one job title reference, another mod did erase alot of the nonsensical posts though.

Vic I had npalm or whatever his sn is, delete funky posts. I pmed you both to see who'd get to it first. Freaking Vader changed my job title in his quote from Ricker that's why everyone is confused.
Ok so yeah, I don't race. I floss daily.
