I really don't know who you can find to do a proper repaint job for 3k. I think for a decent job including all jambs, etc, you are looking at a minimum of 10k. I would just sell the car and buy the color you want.

Are you sure you want to repaint your car? I know you could always state that the repaint was done w/ no accident whatsoever... but if I were a buyer, I would be very skeptical.
+1 on getting wrapped or just buy a white one.

Once a car gets to a certain age I think it's okay to repaint it. Yours is just 4 years old so in my opinion it might be too soon. If you do paint it, just avoid ricey colors or wannabe Lambo tones.

A decent custom shop should be able to get a basic one for 7-10k. It really depends on the paint you use, how similar it is to the factory color, and if you want the door jams/engine bay painted.

I think a great alternative, as already mentioned, would be a good wrap job. For 1-1.5k you can find a good vinyl wrapper and can choose whatever color you like. Protects your existing paint and when you get tired of it, change it. I was thinking of wrapping my white e class in fire opel red. They don't offer that color here on the E-class thought it would be a nice touch. still considering it, but have other plans. If you are a west coast guy, I'd imagine a good vinyl guy is probably a little bit easier to come by then out here on the east. Either way, good luck.

+1 it simply cheaper to trade the car for the color you want rather than wasting money to get it repaint..Too much work and doesnt always turn out the way you want it...Nothing better than factury paint..Not unless you got into an accident and repaint the bad boy to whatever the color you want.
