I thought so, too. I will play with them when I get home, but if it's there tomorrow, they're going back.

After buying a first set for $40.00, and not working from a different company I bought these.

Along with these for the city lights

They work perfect. I love them!

See my reply below...try using the "manual" lights setting...

This is from the eb link above:

---
* For certain model/year of Mercedes, there is a stock feature called automatic/manual light sensor. What it does is either you can set the car to have automatic or manual adjustment on the headlight. In automatic setting, the headlight will automatically turned on when the outside environment gets dim while in manual setting, you get to turn on the headlight on your own. There is a switch that adjust the setting from automatic or manual light. The NO ERROR LED license bulbs will not show error when it's in manual setting while in some model/year, will show error when the car is switched to the automatic setting. And the LED license bulbs still work fine even it shows error under the automatic setting.
---

I have yet to find a simple/plugnplay/reliable LED license plate lights....

The whole ride to work this am I had the message. When I started the car to leave work, no messagess. I've started it a few times since and it has been error free. I don't know? They do look good, though. But.. My car was out in a hail storm that lasted about 45 minutes and there was nothing I could do about it. I'm really hoping it isn't dented all up.

Sorry, I was referring to this statement: The NO ERROR LED license bulbs will not show error when it's in manual setting while in some model/year, will show error when the car is switched to the automatic setting. Jus wanted to say that I received mine today. Took about 10 minutes to put in. The hardest part was unscrewing the nails so you could get to the bulb. Other then that, very straight forward install. I turned them on and off a couple times to make sure they worked and they work fine. No error messages so far. Keep yer fingers crossed...

Will post pics later sometime...

** UPDATE **

Error free so far. Maybe it was just adjusting to the new lamps or something? I've gotten lots of compliments on them, too.

Check the bulb type here: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

Once you find the bulb type, cross-reference it to here: http://superbrightleds.com/bulb_cross.htm

Once you get the cross-referenced info, look around the car forums for reviews... GL

As for the plate lights, if you want LEDs, you are in one of the right places. There is another huge thread out there that discusses license plate LEDs. Nobody can really tell you what to use....it's up to you...there are pros and cons with every source. For example, you can get your LED without a resistor...but you have to install a resistor yourself (aka wire tap so you don't get error codes). Another is you can buy the $50 LED with built-in resistor. Some people are buying it on this thread and say that it works...but it's too costly for me (just for license plate lights???). Anyway, STT. You'll learn from other people's solutions (or mistakes; others have spent hundreds just to get the LED look). GL

Let us know what worked (or not) for you!

they certainly do look good.

i tried messing with making my own (special resistor setup etc) i got it to work but that resistor was getting super hot and one of the ebay led bulbs went out so i just ripped all of that out and ordered teh Ziza ones. headache free and from a seller i have dealt with for years (ECS).
