Two questions:

One, was the E55 shown at Detroit?

If it was, I'm assuming it will be shown in Chicago. If not, will it be shown in Chicago for the auto show starting Feb. 14?

According to one of the on-line auto news services, The E55 will make its U.S. debut at the Chicago Auto Show. It also says that they will finally tell us the MSRP.

The supercharged V-8 version of the new E-Class — the E55 AMG — will scoot to a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds or less. It’s AMG’s 35th anniversary present to the speed-crazed and torque-starved, and it has apparently toppled the BMW M5 from the performance sedan throne. The standard E500 sedan is already pretty spectacular, granted, but the Lysholm-supercharged 5.5-liter V-8 engine packs a sweet rorty/sporty exhaust note, an eye-popping 469 horsepower, and a seriously huge 516 lb-ft of torque. The E55 will make its U.S. debut in Chicago, as will its pricetag, unreleased by Benz thus far.

You guys are all correct...just saw a benz press release at Germancarfans.com regarding the E55 being at chicago. Dont have the link, but it's a top story.

It is a shame I can't make it to the Chicago autoshow this year!!!!

There was no E55 at the detroit auto show. Just an E320 in Platinum Blue.
