Just For Fun! - Place your bet & guess W211 E55 MSRP! Price to be released Feb 12,...
Tommorow is the long anticipated day! The W211 E55 will debut at the Chicago Auto Show on February 12, 2003. The car will be seen by the automotive press on Wednesday or Thursday.
I have been 'guesstamating' in the range of $73,000 - $74,000 since June 2002.
I officially guess:
$72,500 base price
$720 destination
$73,220 Total
Make your guess the day is finally here!

My official guess:
$73,200 base price
$720 destination
$73,920 Total
I am going to try to see if I can make it to the show over the weekend. I really anxious to see this car in person, you can only tell so much from the pics. I am a little concerned that the W211 e55 has gone a little too "soft" for my liking, the old e55 had a nice solid prescence to it.
This might be my next car, so I really excited to see the car and get a final price.

I hope all you guys under 75k are right
as for me:
base $77,500
by the time you add on destination and gass guzzler, look to be paying close to 80k before options, thats my guess......
like I said I hope you guys are right

By looking at the price guide, you can tell the w211 E55 will come pretty stripped down. It was probably the only way MBUSA could keep the price under $75k.
So my guess would be $75k after destination. Add on some needed options and taxes and you'll be hitting upper 80's..
sucks

I doubt that they are going to run out of the show to publish the base price of one car among the dozens of cars to be shown today and tommorrow.
The E55 price will probably be in someone's complete show coverage posted at one of the few online automovite site.
I was watching the webcam on www.chicagoautoshow.com and now all the journalist are swarming around the car after they opened the curtain.

Here's a press release describing the car, but no pricing.

Xenon and headlamp washer are options? My sale adivsor was right about the current trend. Most of the new models' equipments will be " a la cart", and not much will be included in the base price. I was surprised to find out the W209 CLK55 doesn't include xenon and rear window shade as its predecesor did. MB may have kept the MSRP low but once you add up the optons, it will give you a coronary.
