My E63 Lease Deal
I am close to pulling the trigger on a 2009 E63.
Here is the deal I have been getting so far.
$3000 cash down
1299$ a month for 48 months
or
1400$ a month for 36 months
7500 miles a year.
This company swears this is the best deal around. Anyone have anything to add?

Which dealer and what is the sticker on the subject car?
I would be happy to help you calculate a lease, or you can use the leasing/ financing section on this board. If you know the formula, I think you'll be more confident making your best deal. Feel free to PM me.

I assume the quoted payment includes tax... If so, they're leasing you the car for a cap. of about $76k then. $20k off is pretty damn good.
What dealer here in OC?

It still staggers me how cheap you guys can buy cars over there in the States. Sticker price when the E63 is released here will be, after currency conversion, about US$195,000. My 05 E55 cost me $US80,000. Getting well and truly bent over I say

Nice negotiated cap cost.
On the payments, you're close, but could prob get them a bit lower if you push. Please check my math but I think the 36 mo should be closer to $1,250 and the 48 mo 1,170. These are after our friendly local 9% tax.
This assumes: cap cost of 68k, sticker of 96k, june buy rate for 36 mo lease from MBZ @ 46% resid (for 10k miles) and .00395 MF. There is another subforum on mbworld.org that has all the buy rates for different cars / months.
Also worth noting that the lease deals on E63s actually got WORSE in June vs. May. Same residual (43% for 15k miles / 36 mos), but money factor went from .00225 to .00395. Thats essentially going from a 5.4% interest rate to a 9.5% interest rate. BIZARRE.

Thanks for all the help. I will bring that information with me today when I try to negotiate the deal further. Does anyone know if there is still the .9% APR on purchasing an E-Class? If so, does it apply to the E63? It might be better to just buy it.

68k is not a bad price for that car but the residual at 36 (43%) is heinous and so is the MF if the above numbers are current. The 9.50% apr is tier 3 in my book (circa 620-659 fico not using an internal scorecard) and I would walk from this deal. You could try US Bank if the dealer uses them- their residuals are low but probably not as bad as MBCC and the MF's are arguably the lowest of any non subvented rate out there. So even if you came up with the same payment with US Bank your monthlys would go more to depreciation than the interest equivalent. Oh dont forget on the MSRP to take out gas guzzler tax (usually 3k) as you cant residualize it.
It is strange that MB USA is not incenting these vehicles more via financing, but all the auto guys got hit pretty hard on credit losses in their captive finance vehicles in the last 6 mos so perhaps just a return to normalcy. Its a shame that a 46 percent residual on an AMG is actually a realistic stat these days.

My math agrees with yours. $68k does not seem realistic, nor does it pencil to $1400/mo. Something is fishy, but a decent deal if MBZ credit is the one you have to use.

I seriously doubt that apr is for an AMG vehicle.... BMW on the other hand did throw out nice apr's for the M cars a few months back.

Buy rates...
Y I haven't heard of a 7.5k mile / year lease either but perhaps you just keep adding 3% to the residual for year 2-3k reduction.

So what happened man?
This is the math on your deal, assuming that $96k is the MSRP after gas guzzler is removed from the residual calculation. You can adjust accordingly.
$96,000x.47=45,120(resid. for 36mos@7.5kmi/yr)
$68,000-45,120=22,880(depreciation over term)
$22,880/36mos.=635.55/mo.(base mo. payment)
${45,120+68,000}x.00395=446.82 (int./mo.)
${635.55+446.82}x.0875=94.70 (OC tax/mo.)
$635.55+446.82+94.70=1,177.07 TOTAL MO. PAYMENT
You can do better than $1,400 month. They are snowing you on something. Work them on the money factor. .00395 is not the bottom.
*In this scenario, your drive-offs should be...
$1,177.07(payment)+1095(?)(MBZ lease orig. fee)+900 (Calif. license fee)=$3,172.07
