Low mid 20's is all you're going to get... if you're lucky. Check out this ad: https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...il-2012-a.html

He's been trying to sell this car for months. Beautiful color and condition too. Don't try adding value to your car with the wheels or add on parts, they mean nothing. If you think you can get that at auction, go to a dealer and see how much they will buy the car outright from you for, better yet.. go to Carmax. After you do this though, be sure to let us know what they offered you. If I had to guess, Carmax is going to offer you $18k.

The truth sucks, sorry. Good luck to you though.

Part out everything you could that's not standard.... you'll likely get more plus you'll likely sell the car faster (you could post it cheaper than the market).

Couple things you could do:
Sell your wheels separately... you'd at least get about a grand or so... w/ them on the car, you'd likely get nothing additional - may only make the sale faster (if not slower).

Check your warranty... see if you could get pro-rated refunds. If so, how much. The difference between selling the car w/ and w/o warranty may be smaller than selling it w/o warranty and getting refunds.

Bluetooth? Hmmm... I know it's around $200... and I don't think you could get $200 additional by telling the car has bluetooth. So better part that out.

Just my 2c.

i think it depends on where you live too. when i was looking for one all i could find around here was silver, silver, silver. i wanted black/blck nappa/black wood so i paid to have one brought over from Chicago and paid a premium for that. i did get good trade in value for GTI so I was an am happy.

BTW wholesale on 03s is 18-24 depending color, miles, options, location and ofcourse condition

mkt on these E55's are a bargain now.
Sellers need to wake up and realize that their E55's arent worth what they think they are.

I hate to be a seller but love to be a BUYER

I just sold my E500 1 month ago at $18500 with 69K miles.
I think your car worth at least $24k-$26k
You just need to find the right buyer who will appreciate your car.

Good luck !

sheiiiit! even the "right buyer" will not pay mid to hi 20's for these. People are thrifty these days, regardless. Good luck on the sale.

I feel your pain. I'm thinking about unloading my 05 for a 996TT, but even KBB who lately has been notorious for being high is now low!!

My private party value is $34K! And the real value is probably around $29k! Ouch. But everybody's car is bending them over in this economy.

And I'm not sure why people keep saying to hold on to it like it is going to appreciate. Since they already are in the teens, that is where mine will be if I hold on to it for a few more years, so my advice it to bail as soon as you can if you don't have a need for it anymore.
