Anyone have pics of mushroom filters?

This is basically that, with a cowl hood to create higher pressures over the intakes. I'd also incorporate vents at the back to draw more heat out.
I have front side and overhead drawings already, as well as 3d transparency of the system itself. I'm keeping that one to myself for now. lol.

I think I know what your thinking of and I've thought about that for a more stealth look. I think with the E hood line it would definately work/LOOK better.

Mine will be better though.
Here's a top view drawing of the scoops. I think my side view got screwerd because it changed the size of the drawing.
This time I kept the drawing size stock.
If I catch anyone making this I'm gonna hunt them down ...

I know you don't think I'm chopping my own hood up!
I agree, the raised hood doesn't work at all on the E55. The CLS is another matter IMO. This hood would look seriously bad *** on a CLS.
I remember the last bike I chopped. I told everyone it needed a real fat a$$ tank to make the curves look right (Factory tank was too skinny for the big curves and large fenders) and no one could see it until I made one. Then everyone wanted one.
Finished tank 3" wider than stock ... sucker holds 6gallons too. Woohoo!

I haven't even ordered the hood yet.

Worked with a local dealer for a few years now customizing customer bikes.
I'm about to buy a small 2600sf shop

It wouldn't work on an E. The lines aren't right. (Not to my eye anyway)
Would you be willing to use a system that required you to cut your hood?

actually - i do like your drawings. def taking a serious approach to it. i just think the E55 is a muscle car in a sheeps clothing and i want to keep it that way. i also think that a huge ram air hood scoop will look silly on a Mercedes - just like that red SL55 that was posted not to long ago.

It actually works better being "huge" because the hood bulges across a large area basically keeping the lines, but making it look much more aggressive.
The actual "scoops would only be 1.5" high. Certainly better then a humongous high rise cowl over a SC or sticking a shaker through the hood.
Just for fun I drew up an E Cowl hood. The star had to go.
You know ... I may have to take back the opinion that it couldn't work.
For the serious E55 racer, a spare hood with a sealed system like this would be pretty cool!
And forget about stealth...
Definitely works on the steeper sloped CLS hood better though.
