Issue maybe with 55?

I have noticed lately if I'm in M mode and rev through 1st it have a slight Hesitation/ miss.. Also it just does not seem to be pulling as hard as it used to after the LET flash.. Maybe spark plugs? Any ideas? I might get it dyno'd to see the numbers to know for sure if it's low on power or not.. Any help would be appreciated guys...

if it feels like hecups, then you need sparkplugs, espacially when RPM reaching near 4,000

What is MB recommendation on changing out the spark plugs. I would do a search but since you brought up the topic I thought I would ask .

i recall there is a thread about it, u can search

but everyone recomends using OEM plugs.

it is useful to change them every 2nd service. which is every 20,000. but again, depends on how you drive. and the timein the year. summerr = hot air = wear off more

no i think it is not part of the warrenty as these are usage parts like brake bads, tyres, etc

but if u have service contract. then they sure are

i don't think they are expensive

shouldn't reach $100. it depends from place to place.

here in UAE i can 1 OEM plug for about $10. so about $80. but then. you have labor charge.

there is a thread about how to change them i think. chak the sticky threads under DIY

This hapenned after a tune? How long after? If it is too lean, the plugs will gunk up.

100k? I'm only at 36k... I got the LET flash about 3 weeks ago and the car was running amazing... He said the tune was a little richer than stock... Maybe I should get a dyno with a/f readings?

100K.

WTF. our dealer change them every 2nd or sometimes 3rd service.

but again. our heat may cause it to wear out fast.

dunno.

i just have to go with what they say, so that they don't blabla bla about warrenty and other things

stealers not dealers.

I'm at 42k right now and I'm thinking it's time to change the plugs and wires. It seems that many modded cars have gone with a one step cooler plug.

A lean condition will not cause plugs to foul out. The converse is actually true. A lean condition will cause the engine to actually run hotter and your plugs will have a tan color to them.

Your A/F ratio likely was maladjusted during the tune, and like you said, probably on the rich side.

mine is tuned and in STAR it was made, slightly Rich

but the tuner did that. because it showed that there light engine on. indicating low fuel pressure. he said mine was the first one that he had to do it after tuning ><

I was at 22k when had to change out my plugs. Was feeling strange hesitation. There is a thread someplace around here with pics I took of what they looked like, but were BLACK as all hell at those miles. Replaced them and felt like a new car!

Aren't there 2 plugs per cylinder in the E55?

yes 2 plugs per cylinder on the e55, so 16 required for it and 1 per cylinder on the e63 so a total of 8.

My thoughts exaclty...

Not to be disrespectful but this thread has mis-information

e500 and e55 = 16 sparkplugs

A lot of times I have found that it's not the plugs that cause this, but the wires.

I think most of Mercedes has 2 per cylinder, my E430 W210 has 16.
Or the dealer charged me extra 8 .....
