In simple terms when you run your vin# your car will not be the real deal. It would have to have been built by AMG to be a true AMG. Second this is a W211 E55 and E63 thread why are we even talking clk550? To me putting any kind of badge on your car is a wannabe poser! Just my .02

Poser if I add OEM AMG exhaust tips and AMG 19" wheels to my 2014 E350 w/ Sport pkg? It has the bumpers already...mostly. lol Not planning on AMG badging. But was going to remove the E350 badges altogether. Just tossed on AMG style lip spoiler (for some reason mine was ordered sport w/ spoiler delete when new)

I say debadge. You will have a very nice tastefully modded E class.
I was driving with my son and pointed out to him that the SLK320 with an AMG badge in front of us was a fake. The guy was driving very aggressively, cutting in and out of traffic, speeding from stop lights, etc. And then the clouds parted and the angels sang and we pulled up next to him at a red light. My boy (so proud of him) said "Why don't you show him a real AMG?". As he got smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror we both had a good laugh!
You're raising that boy *right*! One fine wet day my kid was riding shotgun and I turned the nannies off and did an empty slow corner nice and sideways. His comment was "did anyone else see that?" Heh...
One of the worst offenders that I have personally witnessed. Quick back story, I took these pics at Houston Cars & Coffee (Memorial City mall) on November 2018. The owner even came early to park in the display section! Did he think people were too stupid to notice??
The steps that people will go thru to try to transform there cars into AMG's that will never be.
Just give up and buy one already. I tiger can not change his stripes.
I cannot see the harm in what people decide to do with their cars .If it makes them happy good for them , it is just like other people buy fake sunglasses or fake clothing etc .
I drive an old Mercedes slk 230 , I see fakes around and I just dont care. Just my opinion .
