How do you deal with people who ask about your car?
I'm only 22 and am blessed enough to have a job that allows me to have the toys I have but it seems like every time someone asks what kind of car I drive- I always feel like a real a-hole talking about it. I am not bragging- just simply stating what kind of car it is. It's almost to the point that I don't even want to talk about it at all. Most of the time all I get are dirty looks (of jealousy?).
Do any of you have this same problem? Might not be a problem with you older owners that have friends with like cars but most of my friends are driving very cheap economical cars (civic, accord, camry, etc.) due to the fact that they are all about my age.
The only people I feel comfortable even talking about my car with are people who own similar high-end cars just because they are normally cooler about it and we have something in common and to talk about.
I just say I have a 220 AMG so they're confused, if they know then again like the person above said you're going to have a good conversation
Kind of a silly thread IMO

Never yet had I sat around with friends and someone out of nowhere asked me what kind of car I drive. Usually my good friends already know what I drive and if there is someone around the group that does not know, they simply never ask.

**EDIT** and poor
But when someone ever asks me, I always said "just an e-class"... or "just a bimmer" w/o any need to further elaborate unless I know the person is a car freak... but then, I wouldn't worry what you worry since I put aside the e-class and only talk about mods and numbers.

"I went to college for 6 yrs, got 2 degrees in engineering, i work for a bike shop part time, i started investing my money when i was 18, and i own a rental property on the University's campus. THATS how i afford all my toys. Any questions? Thanks."
That usually shuts up the stupid people, but starts a positive discussion with the intelligent folk.

Where I work now I don't drive the benz in, but soon I will and fear all the questions ... Forget it with cops, thats a different topic...
This is kinda off topic. This past wkend I was at a bar having a drink and wearing my amg hat with a crest logo in it. My female companion asked me why do you have a avacado tree embroidered on your hat... I was like wtf you dumb *****.
But I enjoy the conversations, they're usually people who are fans of those cars, and are paying me a compliment. The people who approach me are very nice, and usually MB enthusiasts. I don't take it as an affront, I'm not sure why being asked about your car would even bother people.
