some throttle body info

The Audi S4 TB is identical to the one of the right, same housing and everything... just end caps are different. Bosch always reuses housings for different manufacture cars, its quite common place. Yes the end caps are swappable, there is no point in arguing that...

I spent close to 1 year researching every possible DBW throttle body on the market .In the image below the 2 throttle bodies on the left are both Audi V8 units.Tell me if you spot the differences.

Well the Audi one we had worked perfectly, Dunno which part # it was but it definitely had Audi stamps and was for the 04-09 Audi RS4. The 2nd one from the left is the correct one, just swap out end caps (for the 10th time)...

Whatever the case let me know if I can help you out with anymore DBW throttle body info.
I have an entire libary compiled now.

"If you can get the Audi V8 unit with the V2 Bosch TPS then perfect but thats still 80mm."
I have the TB (p/n# 077133062A) we are talking about right in front of me. At the throttle blade it measures 3.225, or 81.915mm. The inlet and outlet measure 3.30, or 83.82mm. I can post pics if need be.
I realize you stated this part is NLA but I just wanted to avoid confusion for anyone looking to pick up a used throttle body.

The lip is not machined, just like the one AMS pointed out.
The outside measurement of the inlet is 3.545, or 90mm. Which brings us to the next hurdle. What is everyone using for the "y" pipe with the 82mm tb? I believe I have a solution but I would like to hear from those already using the 82.

Thanks Zod, that's the same as I was planning. I pulled the rubber gasket and plastic ring out of the inlet connection. It measures 3.75 with these removed. Mcmaster.com has o-rings with an inside measurement 3.5 and outside of 3.75 which should work.

How do you find the parts for an adaptor harness? Audi to MB? Many of the Audi TB`s do not seem to have the PCV inlet connection either.

I just recieved this TB from you. You sited 82mm TB, has been cleaned and tested to work properly. Posted on the E55 MB section but this TB is off an AUDI??? Just checked the numbers and hard to miss the Audi logo on the side of the TB..
The TPS plug in is not the same, not sure if it will run off our wires, not code and even idle correctly. .. Since I thought by your posting on this MB site , that this was a MB throttle body posted by an MB vendor..Can you explain what tested means? How did you wire this to an MB to test it?

Since you bought your TB from a vendor who's a forum sponsor, I'd think you should work with that vendor to get whatever's needed for it to function properly on your car - or, if it's not what you expected to receive and requires more work to function than what you deem to be acceptable, you should just return it.
In a perfect world, that would make sense.. I did ask him and did not like his reply, so lets just say I am done with that..
