Airmatic Failure!

Driving on the freeway i get this message. Luckily i'm 7-8 miles from the dealer and head there. Upon arrival, i shut down car and hear a loud whistle whining sound. Air dumping from suspension. Front Passenger wheel is tucked in fender very low. Service tech starts up car and hears the same whining sound. Sounds like a leak someplace. Go thing car is under warranty! They gave me a loaner. Anyone have this issue or a bad experience? Hope its not common.....

Mine is in the shop today

2nd time. Mercedes will only replace one air strut at a time instead of in pairs. So you get to have TWO failures. Fun, huh?

Mine is a 2006 with 38000 miles. Great car, scary suspension. And when it fails you can't drive at all. Terrible design.

I LOVE my E55 but am considering trading it in on something with a less failure prone suspension. Hate to do it. I just love the car.

dealer called and said it was a failed airmatic strut. New one is replaced. Thanks you CPO.

See if you can get them to give you the blown strut. I want to see what can be done to repair them. I have access to many high tech suspension houses.
