1999 e55
e55 or e63

Hello,

I own an 1999 E55 and it is time to upgrade.

Its coming down to either a used 2006 e55 or a used 2007 e63. Both cars are in excellent condition.

Can I please get some pros and cons on both.

Thank you.

to me it all depends on whether you want to leave it stock or make it faster. stock, e63...modded, e55!

the e63 has a better sounding smoother motor, the 55 is quirky with it s/c engagement but has the immediate ability to make a lot more power with bolt-ons.

Other than performance is the look. The E63 looks nicer than E55 in apperance. But the price of E63 is about $10k more expensive.
If Budget is not a concern then go for the E63.

Speaking from personal experience, I would go with the E55 over the E63. When I was shopping for my current car, I test drove E63s, E55s, and an S55. The E55's neck snapping torque had me addicted. Also, these days you can buy two E55s for the price of one E63. By going with the E55 I freed up funds for an aftermarket warranty, lojack, brand new rubber, and a bunch of performance upgrades and still spent 20 grand less than the cost of a 63.

BINGO... the 55s have a lot more potential under the hood.

+1 is amazing what you can do to that car with just a few bolt-on's it'd be making 600+ hp

E55, a tune and pulley mod alone wreaks havoc on anything that moves.
