Question Does Kleemann Stage 1 sacrifice low end torque

The mechanic I spoke to about doing a Kleemann pulley and tune told me that I will lose some low end torque, but will pick up significant top end power. Is this true? Is there a before and after dyno test for Kleemann stage 1 on this board?

Thanks.

That is absolute BS. You are going to pick up around 50+rwtq with a pulley and tune. Whoever told you that, I would stay away from for installing future mods.

The only mod that causes some loss of low end torque is a drastic reduction in exhaust back pressure. IE. long tube headers, race cats, 2X3inch tube straight to gutted muffler. Last time I checked a K1 (pulley & Tune) raised the torque and horsepower through the entire engines operating range.

There are many people who have Kleemann tunes and pulleys on their cars. It would be a first i've seen if losing low end torque was lost.

just adding to your thought:

If a lesser octane was used in the map then yeah you would lose some power.

He has no idea what he's talkin about...

i have the K1 on my cls55. I can tell you that when i mash the go pedal from a stop, it literally feels like the car wants to rip the wheels off (and this is with 20"/305's rears)! My car never felt THAT torquey stock.

The tune actually does the exact opposite, a good rise in low end torque that starts quite low in the powerband. Move, fly away, run! from that mechanic. Someone really doesn't know what they are doing.

If this "mechanic" does it wrong, you'll lose a lot more than just torque. KABLOWEEIE!!

any larger pulley your install on the crank will spin your supercharger faster at all time, which in turn brings boost on even sooner resulting in even more low end torque/power.

Tell the mechanic I had a pulley and tune installed a couple weeks ago, I did a before and after dyno. I gain HP and TQ through out the entire band but down low the power came on 500 rpms sooner and was 60 to 70 pounds more and hp was about 40. Maybe I just got lucky and he knows what he's talking about after all he is a mechanic!

I just instaled K1 and a new bosh pump btw, its made a fast car faster, that is the only differance it has made, oh and its a little bit more responsive, Its not enough however, I need more!

WHAT.... you mean the mods actually make the car faster... sh*t... I added my stage 2 hoping it would make my car slower, less responsive, and less torque.... you know, safely first.

Doesn't Kleemann have a good rep for producing slow cars. ??

Hmmm I wonder what your mechanic would think if you printed out this thread to gave it to him?
