I want to see four MBs on this track at once and I'd really like to see someone do what that baby taxi did!
We need a track like this on the west coast and keep ricers and crappy cars that blow up to their own side

LOL.. You got to be kidding me. I am getting my energy back finally.
Looking at your slips from Fontana looks like we are effected in an identical manner although you are forced induction and I am not.
You gained 10.2 mph and .58 in ET I gained 8 mph and .858 in ET
11.64@120.91 was your best slip vs 11.06 @131.1
12.928@108.66 was mine vs 12.07 @116.623
It is amazing to me you could gain 10 mph

Sacramento is a fast track and in the right conditions it could be very kind. I'm hoping more will come after hearing of our results. Originally Posted by juicee63

It's funny becasue most agreed that changing to a smaller tire diameter would slow me down...haha. My car likes to do things a$$ backwards. Everything that's the usual my car does the opposite...
. I thought for sure you would go into the 11's last night....damn. I was really pulling for you especially after that brutal drive up and back. Thanks again Josh and Mo for the extended efforts on making it up.
Did your times match up with DA correction factors:? Mine was pretty damn close using Dragtimes calculations for a NA motor

Yeah the guys failed to back me up into the box , then yelled as I drove out blind.
Sacramento has a wonderful staff, just seems they like many others assume all Mercedes cars have street tires.
Those MT's are never gonna spin, never. They will bog my car badly but they never spin and the combo of rest, and the converter being pre-loaded seems to be critical. Cant be too much, seems 800 rpm is enough.
1.471 came up on the scoreboard , I figured it was my R/T.
Thanks for the video , and wonderful company!
Yeah my times were better at SAC, corrected or not, they are my best two runs since I began running the car in Nov 2006

After getting to see your timeslip I am amazed at how much your car picks up on the back half of the track. You trapped 99 in the 1/8th but 130 in the 1/4. That has to be the most Ive ever seen on the back half (for a benz). I trapped 101 in the 1/8th but only 127 in the 1/4

What was your next best 60' after the 1.47? That is a rediculous 60' for an NA 4000+ car. Are you running slicks in the back and radials in the front? Does the car not get squirrely on the top end?Originally Posted by juicee63

They are the slicks 26x11.50 and they will snap a car in half , my car simply cannot turn em hard enough, this time the car pops out and it shot out of a cannon. I could only manage 1.606 and 1.66 then 3 1.93's in the right lane which sucked for me. Originally Posted by blackbenzz

Prior to this the car had turned a 1.69 way back in 2007 but on different tires, and since I went to the slicks the car has always come out in the 1.7-1.9 range. The three 60 ft times yesterday were superior to all my previous 900 plus runs, all in that left lane.
The E63 in the video had trapped 113.91 and my car is maybe 10-15 hp max over stock, he also left before me on the slip , yet as you can see in the vid the car blows by as if I have 150 more hp. The E63 ends up trapping 2 mph less but losing by over 1 second , most of this can be attributed to the 60ft time as I am over 1 second ahead by the end of the race.
I know the time is legit based on the splits from the slip and the video. after 330 ft I was already .835 ahead even after giving the E63 a .231 head start.
Only way I could jump that car would be to attain a super 60 ft.
Since the cars are equally powered the lead ends up 1.03 seconds so over the last 1000 ft I only pulled away by .195 a margin I usually beat the E63 by in stock form. Had this car been down on power the lead would have increased a a much larger rate.
So yes the physical points to this 60 ft as being legit
The tires are great and take a bit of getting use to. They give you a floating feeling like you are riding small waves. I really love them because you have 100% confidence you will not spin. Now I really love em cause they are making my 400 tq 4600 lb car very quick in the 1/8th. I did two 7.6 1/8th miles and my previous best was 7.84. Also my 330 time is only 2/10th off Alan's and he has quite a bit more hp.

Nice and look at all the publicity I (car 101) am getting with this haha. Andrew called our cars twins and I think he might be on to something, they do like to run together! I like the video from the last slip where it looks really close at the end. It felt like a good run too but I wasn't expecting it to be an 11.5 with just a stage 1. Either way I can't complain about losing when each time they were records! If you ain't first your last!!! Originally Posted by MB_Forever

I just got a e55 and ordered a 172mm pulley, let tune and HE,what do you think I will be able to run with those mods?
I can't remember but isn't the stock pulley like 168 or something? I wouldn't expect anything noticeable IMO. Mostly everyone I have seen does the 178 or 180 pulley and that is where you see your gains and justification for an HE. So I wouldn't expect much, what did LET say? We had an LET box tune, 180 pulley, and HE run on this day with us and the best I believe he did was 12.4 and I don't know the trap speed. I am running the same mods but I have a box tune from someone else since I won't let anything LET touch my car and you can see the 3 slips posted on here, I'm car 101 against Bassn_07 and that's what my stage 1 is getting me. So with a smaller pulley I wouldn't see how you would get much. Originally Posted by skratch77

Of course I'm stirring the pot I want to motivate people to get together and have some fun in running and hanging out. Look how many flaked just on this event for whatever reason. Some I understand some are just all talk. What's the point in making a fast car faster if you don't track it and see just how fast it really is. Butt dynos on the street are not accurate at all nor help you become a better driver of the car. I think it would be awesome to meet some of these guys who don't live in Cali. Clearly we already have something in common so it's safe to say most of us would get along! Originally Posted by bassn_07

thats a crazy 60ft. when you hit a 60 like that it makes you feel like you're going to pass out. very impressive.

Thanks Sun! Yeah, it's still right there but the next time I hit the track I'll have my LT's on and it will be a cool day. If the LT's give me the power needed I should be in the 10's..."should be".Originally Posted by BenzoBoi

Actually the stock pulley is smaller than 168 mm.... the 168 mm was the norm for stage 1 upgrades for the 1st few years that is until ASP started coming out with bigger ones Originally Posted by Mikesamg

Ok I knew it wasn't that big. Renntech has a 180 pulley now and I heard they are or someone is making a 182mm. I think I'll stick with my 180 asp.

Are you not worried about detonating your 11:1 CR motor? Did you try a thicker head gasket to lower CR? I heard that thicker head gaskets don't work well at all and causes uneven combustion.Originally Posted by hooleyboy

Here are a couple more of my runs. It seems that my 60's time are getting a little more consistent. My 3 best 60's times were 1.659, 1.664, and a 1.666 which gave me a 11.067, 11.088, and a 11.15. My 5 best ET's were 11.067, 11.088, 11.113, 11.134, and a 11.150. I definitely needed a low 1.6 to get into the 10's that night or cooler weather.
Mike, post up your times so Josh could record your run among the fastest MB's. I looked last night and seems that you would be in the mid 40's. A time slip would need to be posted.

driveability seems better with the 168mm over the 152mm. i'm only at 7psi at redline. and 8.5psi at peak. It might be my NA cams blowing the boost out of the car to fast and keeping boost down. IDK? I'm not to knowledgeable about cams.Originally Posted by AMGSC

A couple of months ago I decided to devote all my time and posts in the Safety and Testimonial Forum and the Test Forum. Well today I will make an exception.
Congrats my friend!!! That is really a tremendous accomplishment. You should be very proud.
Okay, back to the Test Forum.......... I'm experimenting with the Trebuchet MS font.
