Cellphone for 2005 E55?

I just purchased a 2005 E55 and was wondering how I could use the built in telephone capability.

The car appears to be wired already for phone use. The COMMAND system asks to "Insert phone" when phone is selected. There appears to be a connector in the center console (See attached pics).

My cellphone is a Samsung blackjack with Sprint service.

Can I use this in my car? If yes what do I need to do?

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Bill

How to add phone connectivity 2006 E55?

I just got my 2006 E55, the car did not have this option. I asked the dealer what it would cost me to add this since everything else seem to be phone ready (steering wheel, Nav screen, etc.) he told me the price is $2800.00!!! I want to use the system, but not at 2.8K>>>any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks!

yes, but phonebook upload may or may not work...
u need to get Bluetooth puck (OEM) from MBwireless, ebay, classifieds, MBEnzNL, etc...
or try ViseeO Bluetooth puck (aftermarket) which should work with more variety of phones.

Thanks for the quick reply.. I am located in Washington DC. I just checked my console, and there is no connetors or hidden panels to access. when I push the phone on the nav it displays "No Phone Installed". any direction you can point me would be great. is the "MOST" the software for the navigation sys??

Thanks again!!

Your car is pre-wired. All you need is the Bluetooth puck from MB. They are about $500CDN.

My 2005 doesn't have anything wired either.. Is an aftermarket system the only way? Doing this you lose your 6 disc changer too right? Itronic BT or
something I think...

My 03 has the built in phone cradle - sits between the front seats in the clam shell designed cubby hole.

Phone kit is only suitable for the Nokia 6310i.
Its functionality integrates perfectly with the COMMAND system.

I'm surprised dealers are still quoting 3k the prices installed have come down to about half of that price. Try asking parts for a printed estimate so they actually have to attempt to look it up.

Midcity engineering has the Bluetooth module and iPod integration all in one module (just like cartronics) sells for $899 I think… This is the one I’m gonna use. The iPod shows the name/folder/song and can be controlled by the steering wheel…
