Where is the light switch at? Put it in auto and see if it's brighter if not then yes it's just your fog light. Then turn it to the right all the way and pull the switch out all the way to turn the fog lights on. If the driver side strip comes on it's just your fog light and that's normal.

There are a ton of good info here on the forum, use the advance search feature for topics of interest and read for days!! plus most members are more than willing to answer questions. One tip on asking questions is to include as much information about the problem as you can.
As far as your problem go's I would invest in a scan tool, you can get one that you use with your laptop for around 75.00 with this you will we able to log data such as IAT(intake temperatures) This is what the computer use to decide to turn of the supercharger,When the pump fails the IAT go's through the roof.
