E63 Exhaust Mod Options?

What options are out there to replace the stock exchaust in the E63? I'm looking for a throaty muscle car sound. I've heard the Renntech on youtube, and it sounds great. Anyone have any experience with the Renntech or others? Some quick questions:

Any noticeable performance increase with a new exhaust/muffler?

Cost?

Warranty impact?

Other considerations?

Thanks in advance.

I put Meisterschaft mufflers/tips and Vadim's X-Pipe in place of resonator....
Don't have time now but if you search my posts you should find a link to a Flickr page w sound clips.... Sounds great

Cut the rear mufflers off and straight pipe it like I did. Cheap easy way to get it roaring. If you dont like it you can put them back on or swap in some sports muffs. When you go to sell, original muffs go back on. ez

i have ttmotorsports doing a kleemann header and cat system on the car , will let u know how it sounds . if possible will send u a video . should be done in a few days but the other intake mods we are doing might corrupt the sound a lil bit .

if eisenmann has an application for your car it would sound really good as well.
they actually make some of our oem exhausts. i know they make the cls55 and c63 exhausts. i was told my their NA distributor that if they dont make an aftermarket version for one of the amg models then that means that the oem one is already made by them. obviously not hand crafted and shiny like the ones u can buy from them. i believe its part of the contract they have with MB/AMG.

u can also try doing the resonator delete and slap an x-pipe in there first to see if thats loud enough for you. that does make a difference. if u go that route i happen to have a brand new x-pipe that came with my mid section kit. i already have one in place of my resonators and i dont need 2 of them in my exhaust setup.

You want a real muscle car sound put electric cut outs right before the mufflers. Switch em open and you have a monster muscle sound. Switch em closed and its the same as stock. Cost about a grand installed.

I see a lot of talk about "sound". Which "sounds" like show but no more go. The headers should do a little more for go.

What I would like to know is regardless of sound what is the "go" setup.

I wonder how many people would be in if Borla, Magnaflow or B&B decided to make an exhaust for the E55 and E63. 2 out of the 3 above have exhausts for the M5 and M6.

It would be great to have a *reasonable* exhaust price ... something around $1100.

Mhh... wonder how low a group buy can get a Meisterschaft.....

Seems like in europe they have a couple other choices like tracer etc.

friggin expensive copy... at $2500+ you would think it would save a couple dollars being a copy.

thanks! i had a great time.

my exhaust mods are headers, downpipe (replaces primary cats) and x-pipe in place of resonators.

I wouldnt go the straight pipe route I unbolted my RES. and mufflers one day on my E55 and it was to loud plus I know I had to lose some power didnt feel as torquey. I like the sound of Brabus Mufflers they have a nice throaty sound.

I did the resonator delete with x-pipe on my E63 so you can take a listen to mine. Sounds better but nothing compared to factory C63 or SL63. I have inquired about simply swapping my mufflers out for C63 mufflers.

mprsev, you and nate should get together for a shoot White 211s, black wheels... bellevue twins! (bsquare parking lot in your picture, right?)

As for the exhaust nate: secondary cat del + x pipe where the resonator is

He he, I've heard about MPSERV's ride. Everytime I got to Benchmark or CarNuts they always say, "there is another guy in the area that has a White E63, pano roof, and black wheels!" I'm sure we'll run into each other one day. His car gives me a lot of inspiration (to the detriment of my checking account).

Exactly! You want sound and power, then you work on the first 3-4 feet after the exhaust ports(IE headers!).. Everything after that is just show, sound , wasted money and NO go! IMO

I hear ya, but I'm a mod noobie so I'm going with looks/sound type mods for now, but eventually, I'll go with the "go mods." I'll beef up the exhaust and look at some other things soon enough.

For the E63, it seems that only long tubes produce decent "go" setup.
