Service F due...

I just got off work, it's 2 in the morning. I noticed that service F is overdue and i need to get on it! I'm at 64k miles. After searching the forums i've come to conclusion that i need to: change spark plugs, Brake fluid, oil & filter, and cabin filters. Am i missing anything??? or would it be better to just bring it on into the stealership???

OK, your new, so I will give it again.

Service F only means "6 hrs of labor". The specific items it thinks might be necessary are deeper in the FSS menu. But instead of digging there, pull out your mantenance schedule booklet and see what you think needs to be done. 1-2 hrs of service F are very likely "check battery", "check paint for dings", "check that we have the owners credit card number". If you just take it into the dealer and say "do service F" will you get F'ed.

Brake fluid? My manual says every 2 years, so likely on an 05.
Cabin filters? When were they last changed? If you do not know, then yes.
Spark plugs? Mine (E63) says every 60K, I do not know about a 55.
Engine Oil? Well, if you just changed it 5Kmi ago it does not need it.

What does it say about transmission fluid?
Do you have a Pano roof and when was it last cleaned and serviced?
How are your brake disk thicknesses? A caliper to measure them is cheap ($20-$40).
When was the engine air filter last replaced?

So my point is, make yourself responsible for having the right services completed, not the FSS, and not this forum. Now as far as DIY info the forum is great and you get lots of advice. I probably will not tackle the transmission oil change (they make it impossible on the 7spd) nor the brake fluid due to concerns on programming the ABS into a service mode. But I do my own engine oil, LSD oil, filters, and I even check my car for paint damage (that's part of service item 9 in my booklet). If you do not have a booklet you can download it from MB Owners online at MBUSA.com. You do need to register with your VIN.

A little wordy, but hey.

P.S. you might be able to get the dealer to print a service record for your VIN

Have your service advisor pull the service records. Mine had same service F message.

It had just had the brake fluid done so they skipped that. I did not get plugs but everything else you listed including transmission flush.

We don't hate noobs and we are glad you are a member of the prestigeous E AMG owners.

By the way, if you want advice on wheels and lowering, It seems to me 75% of what is on this forum is focused on those 2 topics.
